Punchline has grown up and mellowed out a bit. It all makes sense in regards to the direction the band has went over the years (with side projects and a lot of time off between releases), but 'Thrilled' brings a different atmosphere to the band that slightly interferes with all the energy they used to have on previous releases. There are moments in the album that hearken to the punchline of old and Steve Soboslai's vocals are just as good and poignant as ever, but the overall pacing and maturity of the new album may leave you wanting more of their previous sugary endeavors instead.
