Some of the biggest sounds ever put on an album. Get those fat speakers out. |
Autechre Draft 7.30 |
Bark Psychosis Codename: Dustsucker |
This is way more than being Talk Talk obsessed, for me. What you get here is jazzy chamber, lounge, trip-hop made sparse, beautiful, sometimes dark. Genre-defying leaps of chillness and sophistication. It's what I love, and it's a masterpiece. |
Benga and Coki Night |
Big Bud Infinity + Infinity |
This is one of the few times where Pots is right but you can't listen to him too much |
Biosphere Dropsonde |
Blue Six Beautiful Tomorrow |
Blue Six Aquarian Angel |
One of the greatest bands of all time. Blue Six. 3 out of 4 perfect albums. Gotta love it. |
Blue Six Noesis |
This album is insane. Every track sounds the same, exactly how I like it. Deep house, 70s instruments run through tons of flanger and chorus, and pure groove mixed w sensual vocals. Doesn't get much better. Like floating above the water. |
Boris Blenn Berlin Future Lounge |
One of my favorites right here. Basically is what it says it is. And its perfect. |
Born of Osiris The Discovery |
Burial Untrue |
Calyx No Turning Back |
One of the greatest albums of all time. Every single song is a massive banger and sounds like a stealth bomber. Perfect for a smoke sesh and any time of day!!!! |
Cannibal Ox The Cold Vein |
Carnal Disfigurement Inhuman Devoured Content From Cranial Cavity |
One of the best albums I?ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. Lovely bass drops and amazing atmosphere for slam. Slam heaven. |
Castanarc Rude Politics |
Chaos Royale You realize, this means war |
Christian Vander To Love |
A loving tribute to John Coltrane that constantly pulls at the heartstrings. The music is very melodic and cascading jazz piano accompanied by ethereal vocals from Vander (and his wife on the title track). A must have for anyone into beautiful music. |
Coprocephalic Gluttonous Chunks |
True space metal. Literally makes RoS look like tired old dog turds. |
Counterstrike Insubordination |
Among the greatest releases in DnB along with their first album. These guys are legends for a reason. Face-melting DnB that you could put up against the craziest metal today, and it still goes crazier. Music for maniacs and psycho-killers. |
Counterstrike From Beyond The Grave |
One of the hardest drops ever in the DnB world. These move at warp speed and hit you hard. Like driving in a Lamborghini through the apocalypse as it?s happening. Amazing and brings a tear to my eye. |
Counterstrike Stick Fight/Metal Gear |
One of the greatest greatest greatest groups ever imo |
Current Value Beyond Digits |
One of the best drum and bass releases, criminally underrated on here. Grooves so hard. Everything I could ask for from this genre. |
Current Value Frequency Hunt |
Current Value Stay On This Planet |
Dark drum and bass, mixed in with techstep and some neuro for good measure, taken to the most abstract reaches imaginable. Unbeatable beats. Certified classic for DnB. |
Current Value In A Far Future |
This and Beyond Digits were Current Value's peak era. Drum and bass had never sounded so alien and yet so groovy. Seriously sounds like Current went into the future many years and brought us back a taste of what the music sounded like. |
Current Value Revealing the Concealed |
Best drum and bass artist ever and ya'll are fast asleep. Get on this shit ASAP. |
Current Value The All Attracting |
This shit slaps so hard. One of the best albums of 2021. |

Come on guys. Get out from the rock you?re under and get with the best album of the year. Current Value unleashed. |
Current Value Quantum Physics |
Cynic The Portal Tapes |
Now That's What I Call Prog Vol. 1995 |

David Sylvian Brilliant Trees |
David Sylvian Blemish |
Delusional Parasitosis Ingurgitating Intestinal Rot |
Devin Townsend Ocean Machine: Biomech |
Dillinja Cybotron |
This shit is so hype. Definitely high velocity, and heavy movin DnB. The bass is a classic digging bass tone that is a hallmark of this era, always makes me smile ear to ear when I hear it well-placed in any capacity. Big tunes from Dilinja. |
Dillinja and Lemon D Big Bad Bass |
Dillinja and Lemon D The Killa-Hertz |
Diphenylchloroarsine Subterranean Existential Warfare |

Almost perfect. I can see a 5 maybe with some time and a new pair of headphones. |
Ed Rush and Optical The Creeps |
Ed Rush and Optical Travel The Galaxy |
Ed Rush and Optical The Original Doctor Shade |
Had to bump to a 5. This is the perfect progression of sound from The Creeps. A kind of peak in 2003 DnB. |
Ekaros Exhumating Ikaros |
Enmity Illuminations of Vile Engorgement |
Top 5 most alien metal albums I've ever heard. Absolute one-of-a-kind weirdness. |

Excision, Datsik & Flux Pavilion Boom |
Extermination Dismemberment Serial Urbicide |
Felt (UK) Ballad of the Band |
Fishmans Uchuu Nippon Setagaya |
One of the hardest 5s of my life and I mean that. This is what I always wanted from indie pop. The ability to be quirky but stay entirely refined and gorgeous is a balancing act that most artists completely fail at.... Fishmans succeeded with flying colors. |
Fluke Risotto |
I've discovered I'll pretty much 5 anything that makes me feel like I'm fighting in The Matrix |
Frost* Milliontown |
Glifted Under and In |

in your life |
Hiromi Time Control |
Hive (USA-CA) Devious Methods |
Hive (USA-CA) Working With Sound |

Hybrid (UK) Wide Angle |
Intestinal Engorgement Putrefying Consumption of Dismemberment |
Everybody get up.... it?s time to slam now..... we got a real jam goin down |

This is seriously like prog album of the century. Every element in its rightful place. Beautiful listening. I feel like the strange being on the cover. |
Joe Hisaishi Spirited Away |
Jonny L Magnetic |
Perfect sound for its place in time. Still retains its dark futuristic touch. insanely groovy and sexy. |
Kasra Ski Mask |
Every listen gets better. The EP DnB needed and probably one of my favorite EPs at this point. Monumental release for electronic music in general. Can't imagine what a full-length would sound like from this guy. |
Kasra Focus On The Love |
Kasra Swinging Swords / Black Lemonade |
Kayo Dot Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue |
Kayo Dot Coyote |
no, no, no! this one is one of the greatest, most haunting records you'll ever hear. it sounds like anthropomorphic creatures of some sort having a cacophonous, lantern-tinged ritual deep in a mystical wood. the emotional aspect of this album is beyond words; I'd recommend this to anyone. |
Kayo Dot Coffins on Io |
Simply one of the best Kayo Dot albums we've heard so far; Driver has perfected his compositional skills and has found a way to remain entirely musically consistent whilst still implementing some very odd passages. This album is a triumph of atmosphere; like Choirs of the Eye, it seems that Driver and co. wanted to focus primarily on conveying emotion through sound to tell a story of murder, post-apocalypse, and the underlying beauty of alienation. Five stars easy. |
Kayo Dot Plastic House on Base of Sky |
Music straight from the future... Utterly jawdropping.... Everything we could've hoped for |
Ken Ishii Sleeping Madness |
Ken Ishii Sunriser |
Kitty (WA) Kitty |
A perfect mix of trip-hop, experimental, ambient, shoegaze and even hints of DnB. Plays like a like a lost album from Seefeel or something Darla Records would have put out in the 90s. Amazing. |
Koop Waltz for Koop |
Kronos Device Qube |
Ok this might be the actual best electro out there. Now if you want some Moving Shadow level break patterns done with electro style drums, look no further. This albums is massive but also classy. Hence, perfect. |
Kryptic Minds One of Us |
Kryptic Minds and Leon Switch Lost All Faith |
Larry Heard Love's Arrival |
Larry Heard Where Life Begins |
A 'true' house album. Not afraid of smooth singing from Heard, and tons of 70s fusion-esque solos that only add to the smooth atmospheres. Adventurous, but not too adventurous. Basically the formula for the perfect house album right here. |
Leftfield Rhythm And Stealth |
Limewax Scars On The Horizon |
Limp Bizkit Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water |
Loefah Jungle Infiltrator |
Bruh this shit is what Im fuckin talkin bout dubstep proper bruh |

Mike Lindup On the One |
Seriously can't fucking believe Mike Lindup made a pop album that rivals Changes. I gotta be dreaming. In complete heaven. |
MJ Cole Sincere |
Sounds like being in a mall from a dream in the year 2000. In other words, easy 5/5 music. Masterpiece. |
Mohler Death Is Defeated |
Thought this was gonna be gay asf from the art. Then I realized this is some real fucking death metal. No pussy shit. Masterful creativity all the way through. 5/5 |

Probably my favorite atmospheric drum and bass album right now. Smooth as hell and keeps you floating in the upper atmosphere. Most of the tracks are too good to believe. A flat-out masterpiece, and the end result of this perfect musical collab. |
OLD Formula |
Orange Juice Rip It Up |
Underrated and an influence on groups like Stereolab and others. This one takes a while to absorb but after many listens I've decided it is in fact the best OJ. |
Oval 94 Diskont |
Do While is pure musical perfection. An album sent to our time from the future. Jam it. |
Paradox (UK) Ramifications |
Amazing. Paradox shows off his skills with finesse. The drumming on here sounds real. Dark and beautiful atmospheres. |
Pat Metheny Secret Story |
Its like the best game soundtrack ever for one of the best games, but like a game you dreamt of and only remember the best pieces of. Another certified Metheny classic. |
Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls |
Let your soul take flight in this ambient/ jazz wonderland of nostalgia |
Pat Metheny Group Still Life (Talking) |
Pat Metheny Group Letter From Home |
Some of the best jazz ever. From the perfect use of vocals along with these perfect musical styles all coming together. It is becoming apparent this guy is some sort of God/ genius. What the fuck. |

Simply put- one of the best dnb albums . This is proper neurofunk and the fact that they channeled such a pure sound in 2007 it seems is a major achievement. |
Phonem Hydro Electric |
Finally... we have achieved in representing the aquatic cities we'll eventually inherit, and it is glorious |
Photek Solaris |
Photek at the peak of his powers. Dawn of the millennium in sound right here. Sit back and let the ocean guide you. Killer beats, aquatic pad patterns. Pure atmosphere. |
Polykroma Radiaphane |
5/5 blissbeat from an artist who arguably helped in creating the genre. Absolutely gorgeous sunny, spacious bliss. |
Portal (Cynic) Portal |
Prefab Sprout From Langley Park To Memphis |
pretty remarkable if you ask me. just another side of mcaloon's genius. |
Prefab Sprout Let's Change the World With Music |
I love music |
Prefab Sprout Crimson/Red |
Still one of the greatest albums of the decade, if not simply the greatest. This is just a thing of magic, and some of the most sincere beauty you'll hear in modern music/ pop. Makes the pop of today sound like total and utter garbage. |
Prefab Sprout Jordan: The Comeback |
Prefab Sprout Andromeda Heights |
This is the most underrated Prefab Sprout release. I can see me 5ing this in time. It is very magical. |

Scorn Stealth |
Scorn Refuse; Start Fires |
Seal Seal II |
Seal Seal |
Seal Human Being |
Seba Return To Forever |
Seefeel Succour |
Like a future historian finding a misty polaroid of an ambient dub DJ and speculating about what this music meant to the human mind. Another worthwhile description; truly aware electronic taking cues from Bark Psychosis/ Talk Talk in terms of structural influence. A piece of abstract architecture being built in an eerie wasteland. Insane emotions spew from this, yet its so sparse. A gorgeous work that defies classification. |
Seefeel Seefeel |
Shoegaze/ electronic/ noise/ glitch/ insanity at its most avant-garde and experimental. This sounds like no other album.... seriously one off the coolest things and a great last album from one of my favorite bands |
Shackleton Three EPs |
Soulstice (USA-CA) Illusion |
In recent memory, this is one of the most gorgeous albums I've ever laid ears upon. This is more than your usual trip-hop/ downtempo. Stereolab Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night |
Me and My Ears Play Voltage and Jizz Out into the Milky Night |
Stereolab Margerine Eclipse |
Another hard 5 for Stereolab. This might be their most "space age" album. The sound is immaculate, especially with drums. Sick rhythms and layering going on here. As always, the melodies are perfect. |
Stereolab Sound-Dust |
want to eventually bump to a 5, feel like this a grower
but its premium autumn music
edit: i fucking knew it |

Sweet Trip Halica: Bliss Out v.11 |
Sweet Trip Fish |
Sweet Trip 4-track |
Basically Sweet Trip is in full shoegaze mode on this.... The first track sounds like early maudlin of the Well meets dream pop. Gorgeous. And 'To Live on Valium' is one of my favorite songs ever. Too pretty for words. Another homerun from our favorite band. |
Sweet Trip,Technicolor, Flowchart, Color Filter... Drum & Bliss |
The surprise ending of Aah! Sealife is probably one of the greatest moments in music history |

The Faceless Planetary Duality |
The Fires Of Ork The Fires of Ork II |
The Veldt The Shocking Fuzz of Your Electric Fur |
Amazing. Shoegaze meets soul music. Pure ecstasy and atmosphere. |
Toby Driver They Are the Shield |
Toby gives another masterwork. This is the best prog I've heard in a long time. Nothing showy, nothing over-the-top. Just a focus on pure aesthetic beauty and the sublime. The album is as stylish as it gets, and the use of harmonies on this takes far more complex routes than on Madonnawhore. This is light years beyond that album. |
Ulver Shadows of the Sun |
Underworld Second Toughest in the Infants |
Without even a minor question of doubt, this stands the test of time as one of the most enjoyable, refined, and groundbreaking electronic works ever made. |

elegant as ever, copro return with a new found maturity focused on theme and atmosphere, and above all else, delivering this to you so fast that it becomes really nightmarish. the production on here is meticulous, dream-like and more involved than their self-titled release. **HIGHLY** recommended for brutal dm fans |
Coprofago Unorthodox Creative Criteria |
One of the best jazz metal albums out there, and I've
listened to hundreds. The jazz passages have a unique
sense of harmony that 99% of these types of metal fusion
bands neglect. Overall it makes for an incredible
atmospheric experience with bizzare metal that oscillates
from Meshuggah antics to strange death/grind, and even
electronica/ ambient flourishes among the jazz parts.
Truly a sublime and highly organic listen. |

fucking amazing. the fact that this album is so unknown is absolutely insane. this is one-of-a-kind metal that takes on an evangelion-esque styled frenzy of sci-fi mania. the music and guitarist play such odd chords/ time sigs that im not even going to try to describe it. this is essential jamming. |

I will be frank with you, many will try to call this
jangle pop.... I do not find this assessment accurate.
With this album, Lawrence goes straight prog. But this
isn't the kind of corny wanky prog everyone hates, in fact
the exact antithesis. What we have here are beautiful,
sublime, and meditative pieces of innovative music that
closer resemble David Sylvian or Talk Talk than they do
anything that one usually associates with prog. Having
said all that, this is one of the most divine pieces of
progressive rock you're likely to find. Yes, it is that
good. Consider yourself a rarity if these six tracks don't
stir up deep emotions within you. Simply amazing. |

Possibly the best fusion album of the 70's. It's melodic and virtuoso at the right times, and puts forth enchantingly beautiful moments. I would recommend this album to anyone new or slightly interested in jazz fusion. For those already fans of the genre, this album is absolutely essential. |

Needs more attention. This has an incredibly refreshing atmosphere that I've been looking for. Renders a Fallout-esque landscape in my mind with beauty lurking in the shadows, seeing the sun every now and again. One of my favorites that the year's offered up so far |
Joy Division Unknown Pleasures |
Jukka Tolonen The Hook |
Amazing album, but i screwed up when adding it, as it was released in 1974 |
Julian Priester Love, Love |
Amazed this wasn't on here. This is one of the best jazz records to grace the planet. Using a blend of fusion, freeform, and otherworldly electronics, Julian Priester creates a sonic vision that echoes the album's gorgeous cover art; a bizarre and beautiful world of endless ocean. If you enjoy Herbie Hancock's Mwandishi period, this is essential. |
Julien Mercury |
Julien Face of God |
Julien and Orange Milk Records' finest hour, and perhaps their rarest album as well. This album can still be bought on Bleep.com. Other than that, it's almost non-existent. Nothing before it nor since has sounded anything like this. An enigma and masterpiece in the world of glitch electronica. Probably one of the most textured albums on earth.... Even more than groups like Autechre got in the early-2000s and that is saying something. Maybe I will review this soon. |
Junior Boys So This Is Goodbye |
Junior Boys Last Exit |
Junior Varsity KM Taking Care of You (Bliss Out, Vol. 10) |
This album combines DnB in lush and surprising ways with melodies you'd hear in shoegazer pop music. Destined to be one of my favorites ever! |
Justin Warfield My Field Trip to Planet 9 |
best rap album ever made. best rap album ever made. |
K.P. and Envyi Swing My Way |
One of the greatest singles off all time. Probably the greatest single of all time. Topped off
with the magnificent B-side 'Bass Is Lo'. Some of the sickest drum programming ever. |

One of the best drum and bass mixes ever. Techstep, neuro, jungle. This shit would light up any dancefloor and shows us crucial pieces of what went missing with modern dance music. Astounding/ a DnB testimony. |

SO this album is an atmospheric masterpiece basically. Also Jennifer Lopez stole the melody in 'Zakroy za mnoy dver', ya ukhozhu' for her hit 1999 single "Waiting for Tonight", so there's that too. Album sounds like looking at the constellations in a strange, dystopian world. |

pure beauty. enchanting. timeless. breathtaking.... the adjectives role off the tongue.... spinetta has many masterpieces. this is a great album to become acquainted with his music; the album is more quiet and stripped down work when compared to his other projects. as per usual with a LAS release, if you like extreme emphasis on gorgeous melody, you're in the right place. |

The new Telefon Tel Aviv album. Is it amazing? Yes. Is it what you'd expect? Absolutely not. Sounds like Autechre and Ulver got together to make an anthemic, brooding IDM symphony. Very dark, and very personal music. Beautiful all the way through, and extremely powerful. These tracks will give you chills. |

So the famed creator of Scientology tries to produce a jazz album, and the result is so raw, fast, and obtuse, it ends up approaching straight up avant-garde. This lunatic ends up making some pretty fly tunes in the end. |

The new double disc of this dropped. Recommend everyone at least give it a spin. Beautiful album, and one of the best 80s groups ever. |

Steve Jansens project. David Sylvians brother crafts a masterpiece that rivals all the work from Japan and is on par with the best of Sylvians solo work. A very organic and nature inspired foray into captivating art rock. Don?t miss out on this beautiful work. |
The Durutti Column Without Mercy |
Album is pure beauty and most likely paved the way for future post-rock bands. Way ahead of it's time, experimental, and simply gorgeous to listen to. Includes a wide array of instruments, but they all blend exceptionally well. |
The Durutti Column LC |
Pure guitar/piano drenched beauty. Surely this needs to enjoy the same status as Talk Talk's masterworks as a forerunner to the post-rock genre. The guitar playing and atmosphere this band created was largely because of Vini Reilly's uncompromising creative vision. Masterpiece. |

Thy Catafalque Tuno Ido Tarlat |
Most original black metal record I've ever heard. Almost departs from the genre entirely but somehow manages to retain a consistent and entirely gorgeous atmosphere that reaffirms it's place in the murky shadows of the woodland genre. If you're open to experimentation that enhances the beauty of compositions, rather than turning them into ill-focused forgettables, look no further. Personally I have been searching for something like this for a long time. Perfection achieved. |

Tubeway Army Replicas |
a piece of breathing, mechanical art from a world of neon drenched dystopia. i find it quite remarkable that, like ridley scott's blade runner, this was an adaptation of "do androids dream of electronic sheep" by phillip k. dick (although this was more of an influenced work); the cover art, to me, is eerily similar to the aesthetics of both roy batty and pris stratton. also the name replicas has an incredible resemblance to replicants, created years later, specifically for blade runner. who knows. great album. impeccable atmosphere. |
