They added 14 guest musicians to the already 6 strong band, playing a mind boggling array of instruments ranging from Piano to Trumpet, Orchestral percussion to Viola and several more that I neither have the patience nor space to list. The texture and layers this all adds to the music is incredible and reveals itself more and more on each listen. To be fair it took a couple of listens to 'get it' and fully appreciate what was going on and it isn't until track 4 that it really rises above standard melodic death fare of late, In Mourning as an example would be pretty accurate. After this the comparison I'd find easiest to make would be with Crimson era Edge of Sanity and while not quite in that class it is a very decent effort indeed.
