5.0 classic
AC/DC Highway To Hell
Pink Floyd The Wall
The Wall actually exists on various levels. When it was released, it had not only musical, but also political and social impact. From band's perspective, surely it was Roger Waters project inside the Pink Floyd machine and therefore it has mixed responses from fans, critics and similar artists. rPersonally I had three phases with the album;rONE. Listening to the album it gave me the huge musical playing field that Waters wanted to accomplish and represent. The lyrics are haunting, deep, self-destructive and wise. TWO. After seeing the movie I was given the opportunity to put together music with film, thus giving even more depth to the "Wall story". THIRD. Seeing the The Wall show in Warsaw in 2013 - amazing, almost beyond description, with current technologies it is possible to take 40 year old album and represent and "re-introduce" it to new generations of listeners. Are there many rock albums that still have this impact?

4.5 superb
Megadeth Greatest Hits: Back to the Start
The Who My Generation: The Very Best of the Who
Amazing compilation from one of the greatest rock bands ever! Pure energy from opening I Can't Explain till You Better You Bet covering the colorful career of true rock pioneers. In opinion, The Who have not dated as some other bands from the 60's era, they're not boring or scientific, they're active, live and electric. Personally, they are my favorite in comparison to the Beatles, The Stones and The Kinks.

4.0 excellent
Aerosmith Greatest Hits
Not really an Aerosmith fan, but this early compilation has its moments showing the band's class by their own songs and covers. At least 3 or 4 songs are still played at classic rock oriented stations or by default make various "best of" lists, thus the quality and longitivity is surely there.
Anvil Anthology Of Anvil
Dio Diamonds - The Best of Dio
Honeymoon Suite The Singles
Honeymoon Suite from Niagara Falls was one of the most popular Canadian bands of the 80's. By having success both in Canada and US, they had couple of song cracking the Billboard, such as New Girl Now, Feel It Again and What Does It Take. Those who have some knowledge, nostalgia and do respect the era of mid 80's hair/glam metal scene, will surely enjoy this fine band. As for the current album, it contains the most popular songs together with some strong album tracks. In addition, it is fine introduction of band for the fresh listener, thus those who are more interested might pick up the individual albums. rpersonal song picks - new girl now / love changes everything / bad attitude / burning in love
Kruiz Kruiz
Lita Ford The Best of Lita Ford
Those who knew or enjoyed the all-female outfit of The Runaways from 70's surely will find something associated with them through either Joan Jett or Lita Ford. After the split of The Runaways, both before mentioned artists had quite colorful and somewhat successful solo careers. This compilation runs though the four albums of Lita Ford pointing out the hits like - Kiss Me Deadly, Close My Eyes Forever and some albums songs such as Larger Than Life, Back To The Cave. Nevertheless, compilation gives quite accurate version of what Lita is all about - flash, catchy and playful - all together in the 80's and early 90's hair metal scene.rpersonal song picks - kiss me deadly / shot of poison / close my eyes forever / gotta let go / lisarPS * - those who are interested in Lita's first band - would suggest to see The Runaways (2010) movie.
Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh
Rainbow The Very Best of Rainbow
Overall great representation of the band with various lineups. It has the killer tracks and classic rock staples of the 70's and more mainstream oriented sound of 80's. Owner of the compilation will get a strong access to the band that could be one of the most skillful and interesting bands of the late 70's.
Roxette Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus!
Toronto Lookin' for Trouble
Great Canadian band from early 80's with playing radio friendly songs crossing into pop/rock territory. Had following and success at home and were eager to dent the US market. Classic songs and personal favorites on album - Even The Score, 5035, Tie Me Down, Lookin' For Trouble and Shot Down.
Twisted Sister Big Hits and Nasty Cuts
I rememmber listening this on casette with side a being the hits and side b having mostly the powerful live cuts. Actually after listening to this compilation took a step towards exploring the individual albums. Powerfull 80's glam/hair metal song staples together with rough intensity of early material songs. By listening to many that era bands, in my opinion TS had their specific style, attitude and real ability to perform. For more satisfaction would suggest Under The Blade and You Can't Stop Rock N Roll albums.

3.5 great
AC/DC Black Ice
Mott The Hoople Super Hits
The hard rocking band from London that had some hits in early 70's - some are still played on classic rock radio stations. Although with help from David Bowie got their much anticipated hit "All The Young Dudes", nevertheless the future success of the band was rather difficult. The particular compilation does a good job of putting together main hits from various albums. Personally, I would agree that it serves a great introduction to the band and would suggest of buying. Those for searching more distinctive representation of band should own All The Young Dudes (1972) itself. Qualitative hard rock of early 70's rock battleground.rpersonal song picks - all the way to memphis / all the young dudes / sweet jane / roll away the stone / the golden age of rock n roll
Pink Floyd The Division Bell
Basically a David Gilmour album, as well last Floyd album as such. Clearly, not a masterpiece, due to many known reasons, nevertheless in my opion it is very accesable, maybe even commerical in comparison to classic era Floyd from late 60's till late 70's. Album has some personal favorites, like Take It Back, Keep Talking, High Hopes and What Do You Want From Me. It is one of those albums, that I preffer to listen one a year, not more - it somehow captures the time and greatness of the band.

3.0 good
AC/DC '74 Jailbreak
Europe Super Hits
Although contains the main hits of the band, somehow falls short of representing the many albums band had, especially the rougher sound of early albums. Anyhow, good for casual fan, more dedicated fan should look for better compilation.
Quiet Riot Greatest Hits
The band that cracked Billboard charts with first metal record - highly successful album Metal Health (1983) and almost hated to record cover of Slade's song Cum On Feel the Noize, which ultimately turned out to be one of the band's best song and thus paved the way and style for other hair/pop metal acts of mid 80's. The compilation gathers the most important songs and some live tracks the band had done, thus personally it falls short on properly introducing the band.
First five songs are somewhat staples of early hair metal days, then it contains some album tracks from later albums, the band did in 80's. Nevertheless, I would suggest to buy the Metal Health album and if more interest is shown, then other compilations the band has.

personal song picks - cum on feel the noize / bang your head (metal health) / slick black cadillac / the wild & the young
