TheGreatQ 01.04.18	So yeah not a good start but I enjoyed it anyways.
Assemblage 01.04.18	Damn, I only saw three episodes from Season 10 and thought they were alright but was hoping they'd ramp it up this time around.

GmemberKills 01.04.18	this episode was such a shit show..... i mean the mythology has already been a joke for a while now, but they just keep making it worse and worse....... tbh i actually thought the s10 finale made some slightly interesting advances, but that is all fucked now
grannypantys 01.05.18	obviously this episode was going to suck since it was written and directed by George Luc.... I mean Chris Carter. The reveal at the end was the only part I liked. No big deal though. I only watch the show for the MOW episodes.

GmemberKills 01.11.18	my only small complaints was I thought it was a little corny whenever they showed Langley in the simulation, and i felt the pacing could've been a tiny bit better. Overall though it was a pretty damn good episode, the chemistry between mulder & scully reached fucking classic levels this episode.

GmemberKills 01.11.18	X-Files is essential TV. It's like Unsolved Mysteries, meets Twilight Zone. So many compelling conspiracy theories/urban legends come to life throughout the series, paired with it's own wild ongoing mythology as well. Not to mention Mulder & Scully have the best chemistry between two leads ever, the writing is strong throughout most of the series (with even Vince Gilligan the creator of Breaking Bad fame contributing), even when things admittedly get a little bumpy story wise in the later seasons there are still plenty of classic moments sprinkled throughout. The fact X-Files can be return this many years later, and still be relevant stands to it's greatness imo.

TheGreatQ 01.25.18	Honestly didn’t enjoy this latest one. I figured it would try too hard from the preview last time and I was right.
GmemberKills 01.25.18	I pretty much enjoy all of the Darrin Morgans episodes especially the "Were-Monster" episode last season, but this just fell flat. I enjoyed a couple of the scenes, but the overall premise just wasn't all that compelling, and the humor was really hit or miss. Really felt like they were grasping at straws here to write another campy clever episode.
Rowan5215 01.25.18	the irony that Darin Morgan - the guy who, like Duchovny said, seemed to be trying to destroy the show in all his original episodes - is now the one most lost in nostalgia for what the show used to be is honestly kind of beautiful loved it
GmemberKills 01.25.18	some of it ruled, and it's definitely one of the better revival episodes, i just think it's Darrin's weakest effort. the ending, and scenes where they imposed Reggie into the old scenes were classic moments.

grannypantys 02.02.18	On the surface the beginning of Ghouli appears to have the stupidest premise except for the fact it is based on reality.
GmemberKills 02.04.18	damn I guess I was the only one who actually dug the episode. It's probably my second favorite of the revival, and one of the better mythology episodes since S7 or S8. I'm glad they finally went somewhere with William, and for the most part like the direction. I don't really find his power to be much different than any of the shape shifting bounty hunters that have been around since nearly the beginning of the series so it worked for me, and I personally can't relate it much to the X-men.
Rowan5215 02.04.18	I was fine with all the William stuff (thought he looks like Krycek's son not CSM's lmao) and I was fine with the MOTW concept. they just didn't fit together in the slightest way. I was too confused to be moved by Gillian's performance in the morgue monologue, cos all I could think was "literally in what remote way was it suggested this kid could be William before now)
GmemberKills 02.04.18	That is fair. I totally agree they could've done much better writing wise before the monologue scene. I mean i get Scully had received visions from William before, but it only occurred to me that is what was happening until after they shoddily threw him into the picture. Up until then I just assumed Scully had just been having dreams that tied into the Ghouli MOTW, and thought she was kinda overreacting for thinking it might be her son. They really needed to at least drop a hint William could be involved early on in the episode or something for things to flow better.

Rowan5215 02.08.18	ah damn, three week break? I'm really getting into this now. That episode was really good, in fact much better than it had any right to be. The callback to Skinner and Mulder's scene in One Breath - one of the greatest in the entire show - was beautifully done honestly, on balance of the whole revival, the ratio of good episodes to bad has been pretty much the same as in the classic seasons
TheGreatQ 03.01.18	Kinda meh I guess, not bad so much as not very X-Files. Next week’s looks gold though.
Rowan5215 03.02.18	Dude that was absolute fucking gold what it was funnier and had the X-Files atmosphere more than any other episode in the revival. Black Mirror wouldn't even exist without the original run of this show
TheGreatQ 03.03.18	Really? I didn’t feel the atmosphere at all tbh, like it had absolutely no connection to the show at all other than the actors. And yeah, BM is indebted to The X-Files but it has its own feel and I think this was a lot closer to it overall than an X-File.
Rowan5215 03.03.18	eh, best episode of the revival for me the slow burn was immensely satisfying, it balanced humour and horror better than any episode has since like season 6, the cinematography was especially gorgeous yeah there wasn't much plot but that was kind of plot, it was obvious from the start how it would end which just made the eventual reveal funnier
Rowan5215 03.03.18	also I'm not so sure there's an "X-Files feel", at least not anymore maybe in the early seasons you could identify it as the poorly lit, paranoid, Vancouver forest sort of atmosphere, but some of the show's greatest episodes like Bad Blood, The Unnatural, Humbug don't have that at all and are still classics I think the reason the show was ever able to thrive was that it broke out of having a distinct "feel" and was able to just do whatever it wanted, which is why even once the mythos went to garbage the MOTW episodes could give us pure gold. this episode was the perfect example of that
