|First Run In Several Months|
Just 20 minutes ago, I finished my first run since the month of May or something. I got an injury in my knee and shin due to the bones from my feet to my knees pulling each other the wrong way about a year and a half ago. It was only about 4 kilometers, but I am beat!
List is what I've been digging the last week or so.
Was rather surprised at how much I enjoyed this, especially "The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills".
Nor did I expect to find this so much to my liking. Pleasantly surprised!
The Poet and the Parrot
I first got to know Bombus last January when I saw them warm up for the Sword (and besting them too). This is some pretty sweet stoner metal which hints at both Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Metallica.
Announced for the Roskilde Festival (along wit Carcass), I had to check these guys out. Fast and aggressive, as it should be!
|5||Captain, We're Sinking|
The Future is Cancelled
One of my AOTY. Is it true that one of the members, is a brother of one of the guys in the Menzingers?
Doors of Perception
Some Danish progressive metal. It's actually rather interesting. Think Tool meets Karnivool's latest (not as good as the first, but better than the latter).
|7||August Burns Red|
Rescue and Restore
I don't seem to enjoy this as much as many of you others do, but it still is pretty great. Saw them in 2012, they were really great.
|8||The Lawrence Arms|
The Greatest Story Ever Told
Actually been jamming this for quite a while, but I wanted to include it here. Great, great album.
Axe to Fall
A new and very dear friend of mine whom I met through my new study, told me to check this out (I was never a big fan of what I heard on Jane Doe, so he said I should give this a go). Dark Horse riffs so hard!
|10||The Horrible Crowes|
Another album I have known for a long time, but been listening to it some more recently. Thank you, Brian Fallon. Thank you!
|Any of you guys run/exercise?|
|Your profile pic really fits the story lol. I used to run a lot in the summer, but now that it's cold out and school's begun, I can only really fit in about a run every two weeks.|
|Lol, it really does, had not thought about that!|
Yeah, it's a lot harder to pull yourself together to go running in the winter. Just figured it was about time for me, I've been feeling rather lazy the past months
|yeah i mainly do weight training. Normally do cardio on a spin bike or cross trainer. Normally do 10 mins cardio to warm up, weights average about 45 mins depending on what body part im training and then 30 mins more cardio to finish. I train 6 days a week usually |
|" but now that it's cold out and school's begun, I can only really fit in about a run every two weeks."|
what lol just wear tights below your shorts and a hoodie over your top? it only takes less than a half hour a day to get a 5k in, not too much to ask surely?
i took up long distance for the first time this summer, really wanted to marathon train with my mate but i'm moving country from january to june so i'll miss out
|my weight training/cv training probably evens out at about 35:65, 5 times a week|
|Moose: I did use weights once, but that was a few years ago, nowadays I mainly run (well, I did untill the injury). I am 2 meters tall and pretty wide over the shoulders to start with, so if a work out I fear I might get too big. I do however use small weights for some exercises, etc.|
Infamous: Wow, that sure is a lot of training. I'm just aiming for a run 2-3 times a week to stay in shape. Then again, as you point out, 30 minutes a day isn't much :)
|Yeah, me too. That's what I'm trying to do now. Starting with just a few kilometers (or, miles if you will) twice a week in December, then up it come January|
|"I'm just aiming for a run 2-3 times a week to stay in shape."|
That's fair enough, I do it for the same purpose really. The only reason I do it more often is because I spend a considerable amount of time sat scouring history books and I'm not necessarily the healthiest eater out there.
|also 8 is really good so props. |
|Yeah, eating healthy is also a recurring challenge while studying, lol. Also, it's nice to get some fresh air for a change.|
Yeah, 8 is excellent - really hoping they will tour again
|Just happy I don't overindulge in chocolate whilst essay writing like I did in previous years, that was a real killer! |
do you dig oh calcutta too?
|Last time I was in shape was when I took personal fitness as my PE credit hour like a year ago. It felt great and I loved it...and then I didn't have to work out for a grade anymore. I'd love to get back into it but I neither have much time nor the knowledge enough to set up a good routine. |
|Calcutta is my fav by them, but I have only heard that and Greatest Story. Recovering the Opposable Thumb is so amazing|
Haha, I could imagine. I just drink way too much coke!
