So, on the Roskilde Festival this late June/start of July, I have the dilemma that Bruce Springsteen and Bon Iver are playing at the same time. Which would mean, I'd watch Springsteen instead of Bon Iver. But it's not that bad, because Bon Iver is coming back to Denmark this November! Although, at the exact same night, somewhere else in Copenhagen, The Tallest Man on Earth is playing. So that kinda sucks. I think I'll go for the latter concert, because I know he's good live, and I probably like his music just a bit more than Bon Iver's. Who would you choose? Or would you cut out Springsteen to watch both Bon Iver and The Tallest Man on Earth?
... and yeah, I know. I have such difficult choices to make here in life.
It's the Boss. I've seen him once before in Albany, NY which was amazing, so he's the one I definitely don't want to miss! Besides, he's made so many classics, and you can sing along to all of his songs + he plays like a 3-4 hour show each time.
Bon Iver is a band I really like, especially their debut album (back when "they" were just one person), and I've never seen them live - but still, then I don't know what to expect.
|3||The Tallest Man on Earth|
I like this guy more than Bon Iver, but I've already seen him live once before - but he has a good, personal show, and he is overall better than Bon Iver, IMO.
Nightprowler! Bro how've you been? Haven't seen you around in a while. Good list too
I'm in the exact same situation as you even though I've already ordered tickets for ttmoe. Not really sure what I'm gonna do.
Dimor: Thanks man! Yeah, haven't been on Sputnik as much since I got home from America - been working too much, and work has banned this site. Until now, I finally got it opened again (hurray for my job). How you doing?
Pagaard: I also think I'm gonna go with Tallest Man, but it's a shame missing out TWICE on Bon Iver.
I just saw Bon Iver about two weeks ago. I'm a big fan of his two albums, but was alittle disappointed in the live show. Musicianship was top notch, but the energy level was pretty low which meant the crowd was pretty subdued. This was a sitting 90% of the concert kind of show. Finally got to Skinny Love and everyone got on their feet.
If you want some adrenaline and an event, stick with Springsteen.
tough choice. i'd go bruce just cuz you'll likely be able to to see bon iver again. bruce is aging so he probably tours relatively less and i'm sure he'll eventually start rocking out less hard, so you wanna see him now while he's still spittin hot fire.
Nice! I suspect America wasn't too bad either. Glad to see some good ole´users back on here. Ive been busy with University mostly, although im on vacation atm, which is super great.
Bonus: Yeah, I thought that might be the case with a Bon Iver-concert.
JB: Yeah, there'll probably be plenty of time to see him in the future - Springsteen still puts on an amazing show, but it's true that he's aging and probably won't be playing some years from now.
Dimor: Sweet, where are you off to?
America was good, went to NYC for 3½ weeks, Chicago for 6 days, and Washington for 1. I also saw New Jersey which kinda sucked, but hey.
So yeah, went with Springsteen, and Bon Iver in November (had promised my friend to go with him to the latter instead of tTMoE...)
