Sylosis

Sylosis are a forward thinking UK thrash metal/melodic death metal/progressive metal band. Hailing from Reading, Sylosis setout to create amodern, epic new take on the oldschool thrash metal blueprint. The bands sound is comprised of fast, aggressive riffing, thunderousdrumming, intricate guitar lines, shredding solos, fierce vocals and hauntingambience.Unashamedly, there is also an abundance of melodyand dynamics. Sylosis pride themselves on not only their heaviness butthe attention to detail of their song-writing.Every song is cleverlycrafted into its own identity and structured to perfection. So far they have released two Ep's titled "The Suppreme Oppressor" and "CastingShadows", in 2008,the band was signed byNuclear Blast records and they released their debut Lp titled "Conclusion of an Age".

On May 19th, 2010, Sylosis revealed through their Myspace blog that they had parted ways with vocalist Jamie Graham.[5]Instead ofreplacing the vocalist, Josh Middleton (leadguitar) took up vocal duties as well as playing lead.Sylosis entered thestudio in 2010 to recordtheir second full length studio album entitled, "Edge of the Earth". Their words on the new albumwere as follows.

“We’re extremely proud of the new material. We all know that these are our best songs to date and they are still evolving inthe studio. It’s avery different vibe this time around. We’re pushing our producer [Scott Atkins] for a really raw and livesound. We’re making sure we knowwhen to loosen up and let a bit more ‘feel’ creep in so it’s not as sterile.

“The new album is definitely heavier and more progressive… although despite being heavier, it’s still more mature on everylevel. We knowwe’re still evolving as a band and I’m surethe album after this one will be different again. These kind ofstatements can be worrying to thefans but we’re very confident and happy with what we’ve created and we knowwe’vetaken the high road!.

On January 3rd, 2011, the band debuted both their new official website and a new song, entitled "Empyreal (Part 1)". Inaddition to this newsong, the site contains the albumartwork for "Edge of the Earth" along with the track names and runningtimes. On March 14th 2011,"Edge of the Earth" was finally released.
