Eels are an American indie rock band, centred around frontman Mark Oliver Everett (aka E). E is the only consistent member, using a variety of guest contributors on each record. Though E has been releasing material for over twenty years, the first release under the Eels moniker was 1996's Beautiful Freak. The latest record is 2005's Hombre Lobo (12 Songs of Desire).
