Eels are an American indie rock band, centred around frontman Mark Oliver Everett (aka Mr. E, E). E is the only consistent member, using a variety of guest contributors on each record. Though E has been releasing material for over twenty years, the first release under the E moniker was 1996's Beautiful Freak.
