Their music went downhill right around the time his drinking became more of a problem. Some of my friends used to work with Alexi and the band in various capacities and even in 05 it was a disaster.
We were robbed of a lot of good music, not so much because of his early death but because the previous 15-16 years of his creative output were also affected .

yeah, of course it was mentioned on a highly specialized music-related site. My point was that no big media news outlet mentioned it. Meanwhile, most media went out of their way to overreport on the deaths of... DMX, Larry King, and Larry Flint.

Great review man, can't say I'm a Children of Bodom fan, saw them with Soilwork once and it was by chance, hardly remember anything.

Alexi's death was somewhat unique for the metal scene in that some pretty big media outlets reported on it. You had to pretty much be in a state of complete media blackout for days to have missed it entirely
