I look at any record that potentially has the power to completely change the genre as a classic album. I believe this album completely raises the bar for emo and it immediately separates the wheat from the chaff in this over-saturated genre. They aren't really that popular, even in the scene (or so it seems); they seem like highly ambitious and curious underdogs surrounded by paint-by-numbers twinkly bands. This isn't just emo, you can hear so much more in it; there is a poetry to this record. |
