The most stunningly beautiful album I've had the pleasure of hearing. Everyone and everything on
this album is perfect. It's debatable to say it's one of the greatest albums ever made. Comme un
Sage is the best example why.

When listening to this for the first time, I was turned off by it being a completely instrumetal album, devoid of any vocals. By the time I hit 'The Loved Ones', I was devoting my full attention to the album. It's utter perfection, and if any prog-freaks haven't checked this out yet, you're just doing it wrong when it comes to progressive rock.

Nigel Pepper Cock Fresh White Reeboks Kickin' Your Ass
Soon enough you find yourself lost in the music, starting your own mosh pit in the sand and
screaming maniacally from the top of your lungs. So engulfed in the moment that you don't even pay
attention to your wife making out with this bandito, or your kids playing with the guns they found
in the backseat of his car. Over and over again, you keep pushing rewind and keeping the rock
alive and screaming... occasionally snorting some of the strange white powder you found on the
dash board of his car. Some hours later you're ready to collapse. Your son has shot your daughter
in the foot and your wife is passed out from the overexertion. Yet you and this strange man are
still rockin. Finally as the day ends, you ask this guy, "What's your name anyway?" "Rick.... the
Desert Dick" he replies, as he drives off into the sunset with your wife, leaving you with only a
memory, and a cassette of NIGEL PEPPER COCK.

Octobre Survivance
Following the previous Octobre LP, it seems as the band has abandoned the vague funk-influence in favor of more focus on the keys. The similarities to Harmonium still remain, but are beginning to phase out as Octobre is coming into their own. Funny to say since this band formed before Harmonium.
Octobre Octobre
It's just like Harmonium minus the folk and synths, and more of the keys. I like it.
Octobre Les Nouvelles Terres
Here, Octobre progress as a band and shed the folk tendencies of the debut album. They're eerily similar to Harmonium.

The Enid Anarchy on 45: Complete Singles Collection
In this odd compilation are the group's singles from 1977 to 1990, including some novelty singles released by their label at the time (Pye) in order to make money, as well as some interesting tracks, such as "665 The Great Bean" and a cover of "Golden Earrings". While the first part focuses on the a-sides, the latter focuses on the obscure tracks on the b-sides. It's obvious which ones are the stronger ones and vice versa. It isn't essential, but is worth a listen.

A Merge Group Plays "Heroes"
A very surprising release by some of Merge's finest, led by Destroyer's Dan Bejar throughout the classic Bowie album. Mind you it's not the whole thing, but based on the Philip Glass version, hence the inclusion of Abdulmajid. Well worth the listen if you love "Heroes" or any of the artists performing here.

Nice ass return considering he hasn't done any solo work since 1986. He is now apparently
very fluent in English.

A problem, however: the album goes on for a good fifteen minutes too long.

Mars (USA-NY) The Complete Studio Recordings NYC 1977-1978
abrasively abrasive, this short-lived no wave collective rose to posthumous fame thanks to their share of tracks on Eno's No New York collection. Contained here is the complete studio works of the band. What they lacked in melodic sense, they made up for with highly violent rhythms and piercing guitars. Never reached their peak and were never meant to, what else could they do?

Sunn O))) Kannon
a solid, streamlined entry into the Sunn O))) canon (kannon?) - "Kannon" sees the two man drone rvets going back to basics I suppose, stripping all the bells and whistles from past endeavors rresulting in a three track, one LP experience that is quite possibly the most accessible album rSunn O))) has put out to date.

"Ready to Die" is two notches up from "The Weirdness" and rcan be seen as a return to form.

Styx Kilroy Was Here
In Kilroy Was Here, an album about censorship and about the titular character's struggles to lift the ban on rock music (or whatever the concept is supposed to be, I can't even tell by the time I make it to "High Time"), the album's subject wears thin quickly thanks in no part to a paper thin story that hardly elaborates on how rock music got banned in the first place and how the villain, Dr. Righteous, even got that much authority to ban rock music in the first place. Then again, I'm seriously questioning a story where the main character's name literally spells out ROCK. Styx truly is the worst.
