Anberlin Vital
Anberlin has yet to make a bad release. In my opinion this is easily their best record to date. I give this album a slight edge over cities just because of the new grounds exlpored and the diversity. Best tracks here are the fantastic opener "Self Starter", the Godspeed like "Little Tyrants" and the amazing trio "Orpheum", "Modern Age", and the artistically beautiful "God, Drugs, & Sex". Not one bad song on this record although i havent quite grown to like "Innocent" and the overly repetitive "Other Side", although i do enjoy the synth intro and the verses which i found way too short. Overall i enjoy every song here as they are all amazing in their own way.

The Mars Volta Frances the Mute
'Frances The Mute' immediately lays all doubts to rest, that yes, it's possible that the Mars Volta could exceed the grandiosity and pretentiousness of 'Deloused in the Comatorium'. Running at over 80 minutes, there's no denying the sheer ambition of music's most hypersonic duos, Cedric Bixler and Omar Rodriguez. This CD builds upon the template of their debut, and takes it a step further; just more of everything, more blistering guitar solos, more musical scope/experimentation, and generally more monumental. Once again, Cedric's wails and the fierce Page-Karoli-Santana guitar solos of Omar Rodriguez, dominate the album. Certainly Jon Theodore's frenetic Mitch Mitchell-esque drumming style should not be overlooked as well. The 'prog-rock meets classic rock' comparisons have been beaten into the ground, but in fact that would be accurate, going from moody Pink Floyd/Hawkwind sections to self-aggrandizing solos that would make Jimmy Page and Carlos Santana proud. Thrown into the mix are some avant-garde twists,

The Mars Volta Tremulant
The Mars Volta are the Pink FLoyd of tommorow. The tremulant ep is one of the most raw, energetic and beautiful albums made in years.
Omars amazing ability to create a symphonic sound is the perfect complement for Cedrics desperate lyrics. This album define them as well
as set them apart from their peers. With this step they cut off all ties to a.t.d.i. and become some entirely new. Experimental, passionate
and uncompromising. This album sounds like reality itself bending. If you are a Mars Volta fan you should defintely own this. Tremulant
sets the pace for TMV foward thinking sound. Be ready to fall victim to their undeniable talent.

The Mars Volta Octahedron
Sure its less cerebral and generally more subdued and accessible than past outings although that seems almost like a blessing when listening to how far off course they've strayed from compositional accomplishments lately, focusing upon derailment instead. Here longtime fans may sigh collective relief at this conscious attempt to wrangle elements astray.
