If Calvin Harris has proven anything throughout the years, is that he is not a one hit
wonder. You can always count on the man to churn out another catchy single complete with
shiny synths, HUGE beats and cleverly chosen guest spots. And there are a TON of famous
guest stars on the record, even much more so than on the previous record, so many that they
quickly become overbearing. You've definitely heard some of these; nay, you probably heard
most of them. Some of the instrumental tracks see Harris revisiting nu disco and provide
some much needed relief, others just expose how basic and uninspired his music is without a
big name backing him up. But it ultimately doesn't matter, cause you wouldn't want to be
caught dead listening to this sober anyway. |

Grizzly Bear still manage to bore the shit out of me from time to time, but it's a definite
improvement from Veckatimest, where at certain points they seemed to dissappear from the
speakers alltogether. The singles are pretty much the best songs of the album though(and
kick-ass closer too). Grizzly Bear fans will deffinitely enjoy this album. |
