5.0 classic
Aerosmith Toys In The Attic
Totally a classic. I don't give many ratings of 5.0, but this album and Appetite for Destruction are at the top of my list for classic albums that define hard rock.
Black Sabbath Paranoid
The song "Black Sabbath" from the album Black Sabbath may be what started it all, but to me the album Paranoid is the first and defining album for metal.
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction
I don't give many ratings of 5.0, but to me Appetite for Destruction is pretty much the perfect hard rock album. Only Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic comes close enough to give me doubt about this one. I'm not saying these are the best two albums in the world, but when it comes to hard rock, I can't think of many that I would put up there with these two.
Nirvana Nevermind
Few albums so definitely changed the landscape of music as Nevermind. It is not only the defining album of grunge hitting the mainstream, but it was also the death knoll of hair metal and the catalyst that brought alternative music to the forefront of pop radio music for the next decade.

4.5 superb
Black Sabbath Master Of Reality
Black Sabbath Black Sabbath
Mudhoney Superfuzz Bigmuff
Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine
Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York
Pearl Jam Ten
Radio Birdman Radios Appear

4.0 excellent
Nirvana Bleach
Nirvana In Utero
Nirvana Incesticide
Pearl Jam Vs.
Ramones Ramones Mania
Ramones Mania is a great starting point if you're looking for an overview of the of the Ramones' career. Although the last few years aren’t covered on this disc, the majority of the songs that people know by the band are included.
Ramones Road to Ruin
Soundgarden Superunknown
Soundgarden Badmotorfinger
Soundgarden Louder Than Love
U-Men Step On A Bug
This album is one of the missing links between the punk music of the 1970s and the grunge movement of the 1990s.

3.5 great
Alice in Chains Jar of Flies
Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral
Pure Ed Shoes, Ships & Sealing Wax
Soundgarden Ultramega OK

3.0 good
Aerosmith Honkin' On Bobo
This is a very good album. I don't think it's great, but it's better than just good. I almost need a 3.25 feature for this one.
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion II
Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion I
Nine Inch Nails Fixed
This album may not be a "Must Have" for NIN fans, but it is pretty good and worth a listen.
Pixies Surfer Rosa
Screaming Trees Sweet Oblivion
Van Halen Women And Children First

2.5 average
Black Sabbath The Eternal Idol
I think if any other band had released this album, no one would remember it at all. It's not terrible, but there's just nothing to it besides forgettable, 1980s easy listening, psudo heavy metal. It's nothing like the Ozzy era Black Sabbath of the 1970s and I think even calling albums from this era “Black Sabbath” is confusing to record buyers. It’s a different band besides Tony and even he doesn’t sound the same.
Black Sabbath Headless Cross
Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy
I think the album is fair. If I were considering the time and money that went into it with giving my rating, it would have been a 0.0. However, looking at the album itself without all of the drama, I think it's ok, but there's not a song on here as good as anything on Appetite for Destruction.
Nine Inch Nails With Teeth
Nine Inch Nails Broken
Pearl Jam Vitalogy
Ramones Adios Amigos!

2.0 poor
Aerosmith Rock In A Hard Place
I don't think this album is as bad as many people think it is, but it's really not a great album.
Black Sabbath Tyr
Guns N' Roses The Spaghetti Incident?

1.0 awful
Black Sabbath Born Again
Van Halen Van Halen III
I honestly think it's great that the reviewer and some other people on here like this album. However, the review seems to spend as much time insulting people who don't like the album as it does actually reviewing the album. I have listened to Van Halen III all the way thorugh. I went in with an open mind and I think this album is Van Halen's worst album. I'm glad that some people enjoy it and I respect their opinions. Personally, I just think the songs on the album weren't as well written as the songs on other Van Halen albums and I don't think that Gary's voice worked with the band.
