Foo Fighters The Colour and the Shape
Coolest ever FF record. Don't know if they ever surpass it again. All of their other work is very very good and worth having. But if it were just one FF album one could have, this would be it.

This is my favorite Rush album. It is entirely perfect. The hilarity of Trees, the just pure awesomeness from Cygnus book II and of course the sheer musicianship of La Villa Strangiato. And don't forget Circumstances. it rocks too. Just too much greatness in this album. Instant Classic
Rush A Farewell to Kings
Scale The Summit The Collective
Never have I heard a better Instrumental Metal album than this. The way they convey emotions and moods without words is impeccable. Also for being instrumental, they are wank either. In fact very much so the opposite, they are very patient and Chris Letchford is among the best guitarist I have heard.
The Police Reggatta de Blanc

Underoath Disambiguation
At first this album saddened me because everyone thought it was so awesome, but I didn't like it. Through my first few listens it sounded very depressing, and that it didn't catch me at all. A month or two later again I listened, I decided the 2nd half was good but the 1st half was hard to get through. No I'm sitting here typing this after listening 3 straight times. Its pure awesome. I love this now. Everything from Spencer's vocals/lyrics to Chris' sweet ambient keyboard stuff. And then Grants tight bass work, with Tim and James churning out awesome riffs like always. Then also Daniels drumming is great. Hes a very good drummer. This whole record has grown on my soo much. Doesn't quite live up to Define the Great Line but is still an incredible album.
Underoath Define the Great Line
I picked up this album on impulse a couple months to go, before i had not had anything by Underoath and wasn't particularly familiar with them. However this album is totally awesome. It has the great Christian lyrics they have always had, brought to you by Spencer Chamberlain, and DtGL is probably his best performance. The album begins with In Regards To Myself, one of the best songs on the record. It has some killer riffage and great overall energy. I haven't seen them live but I'd guess they would open with this a lot. The album continues and Timothy McTague and James Smith keep putting out sweet riffs that are much discernible from others. Then there is the electronic/ambient interlude, called Salminir, which is awesome and provides a nice sepertion amongst the record. You will eventually find yourself at the monster of Everyone Looks So Good From Here, this is the heaviest song on the album, as has one of the best breakdowns I've ever heard and no clean vox. This is my favorite Underoath song. This song ends right with the beginning of To Whom It May Concern - which is an overall excellent song and good closer. With Define the Great Line, Underoath has created a metalcore masterpiece.

Well no need for explanation here, just obviously the best post-hardcore release of all time. Such emotion, such great musicianship and such great ways of conveying moods. Not to mention the guitar and bass tone is to die for.
At the Drive-In In/Casino/Out

August Burns Red Constellations
One of the best records in my collection. In Constellations, August Burns Red continues their somewhat technical metalcore sound that they are well-known for. Still just as heavy as ever. While it is pretty straightforward, they do experiment a bit, albeit not as much as in Leveler. The best tracks IMO are Marianas Trench, Meddler, Ocean of Apathy and Meridian. Touching on Meridian, it shows some progressive leanings, which is quite cool. That's something I personally wish ABR would dig deeper into, prog, Ahh good stuff. Anyway, awesome album. One of the best metalcore albums in existence. For another, see my soundoff of Architects' Hollow Crown.

Dance Gavin Dance Downtown Battle Mountain
Yrah this record just is a grand achievement. Jonny and Jon are great as usual. This is Jonny's record, later on all the drugs got to him. The musicianship form the rest of the band is great. Namely, Will Swan, the lead guitarist. He comes up with great infectious parts and riffs that actually maintain a level of technical skill and proficiency. For example, see main riff in Lemon Meringue Tie, which is obviously the masterpiece of this album. It is one of my favorite songs and one of their most popular, and for good reason. If you are a fan of any post-hardcore, get this, especially if you love some jazz influence here and there.

Everything about this album is classic. A must have for everyone. Almost better than Kingdoms |

The whole concept is chilling and the songs Hush Yael and Dealers of Fame both describe these horrible incidents that would make anyone with any regard for life disgusted at the scum of the world. It is really a very emotional album and Shane and Micah convey it very well. A truly superb album. |

Either way, he needs moar attention. |

In Dreams feels to me like a ride through Space Mountain at Disney World. Except smoother, because this production is super slick. It gives off a good vibe and is tons of fun. Anthony does a great job on vox, not to mention most the lyrics are actually good. Especially 'To Carry You Away'. Riffage from Trent and Justin is superb as always. Lee's bass lines are actually audible, however he's following the guitars most of the time. And Dan does a good job on drums. His kick drum patterns aren't easy to follow. Over all a very enjoyable record.

Love American Disquiet
So, for a serious soundoff lol, I think this album is quite great. It really does stretch down the realms of Emo more than the EP. I like the EP a bit more because of overall excitement and guitar work. However that's not to say this album doesn't have areas it is better in. Emotion is displayed better here IMO and Adam does a good job on vox. So 3.5 if my rating but I'm giving 4 for the time of the album 21:12 m/ badass

Really quite a good record. Yeah MMF is just a post-hardcore/metalcore band, but unalike many other acts of their genre they have excellent songs, with very good musicianship and creativity. Along with that they have Matty Mullins who is a superb vocalist, with good screams, excellent cleans. And above all else, he excels in writing. This album, for more mainstream metalcore, is on par, and probably better than Of Mice and Men's The Flood. And people need to stop saying that MMF is a new Woe, Is Me, because for one they have been around much longer than WIM, and are all around a better, more experienced band.

So it is now quite unfortunate that The Human Abstract, cause as you can see with this album, they really were something special. As for me, I had only even known of them for maybe 3 weeks when I finally picked this up. It is an awesome album. Many don't like Travis Ritcher, for many didn't think his clean vocals were all that, I'd have to disagree but that's just me. He does an excellent job throughout. This album has a bit less abuse of the arpeggios that Nocturne had but they are prevalent. The whole record as a whole is heavier, more beautiful and imminently more impressive. All members of the band are great throughout. My favorite song, Complex Terms has some extremely sweet guitar parts and is composed beautifully. The whole album is, pick it up you won't be disappointed.
