I haven't decided if it's as good as Silent Machine, but it's amazing. Less focus on the djent but just enough to maintain their eclectic identity without getting predictable. Plenty of progressive elements that the previous record didn't have. Any kind of metal fan could enjoy these guys.

Holy hell I just threw this on because I was looking for AOTY contenders and heard it was good, and had no idea what to expect and it blew me away. It's very hard to believe that this was recorded live because it sounds spectacular. The fact that I'm pouring time into a variety of releases to make an AOTY list kills me because I just want to listen to this nonstop. Strong case for #1.

Bourget's voice is astonishing as I had expected, and every time I hear it I still am amazed at how cool it is. I had no clue what to expect as far as the music goes when I learned that he started this band, but it's actually pretty cool and suitable for his voice. This band is an instant Shayley & friends group (obviously via the name of the band itself) so unless he sings and writes all the music, the other members won't get nearly enough credit. Awesome debut though. High replay value.

I don't even feel guilty for the pleasure I find in this album. This is as radio-core as my music tastes get because it's incredibly simple but Tyler Carter's vocal hooks are A+ and the guitar sounds so cool even though I (with next to no guitar talent) could learn it all with barely any effort.

Matured as musicians definitely, and Telle's clean vocals show much improvement and actually sound like they belong in the music unlike the debut album. The screams bother me for a lot of the time for sounding all the same and the choruses lack creativity, but the guitar has improved a lot and it's a fun listen.

Get Scared Built For Blame, Laced With Shame
Get Scared's only release with Joel Faviere on vocals is decent at best. I'd juggle between a 3 and 3.5 somewhere. The sound of this EP sits aside from the lighter, punkier sound that was featured on releases with Nick Matthews for riffs in the "gross pop" sound that The Used acclaims their 4th release, Artwork to have. Faviere is superb on vocals at most parts, and the instruments create some catchy riffs and appropriate drumming to boot. But the EP ultimately fails for being a showcase of mostly filler; only Cynical Skin and Built for Blame actually standing out as songs anybody might want to replay. Unfortunate that Faviere couldn't have more time with the group, because his vocals are very likable, yet most of the fanbase acquired will rather enjoy the return of the also-respectable Matthews. Check out this EP for some nice, dark punk rock, but don't look to be specifically astounded by any of it's contents.

In revisitation, the best this album gets is average moments on their third album. At worst it's a cheese-loaded snoozefest that sells on suicide prevention. Band is even more a shadow of themselves now than when this album was released. To think their first album is one of my favorite modern metalcore albums.. sad.
The Unguided Lust and Loathing
I was gonna review this but I don't wanna review metalcore albums anymore. I guess it's ok for metalcore as far as modern metalcore goes but the fact that they're basically modern metalcore now makes this bad.
