A hip album with a very smooth sound. With regard to the mood, the band's creative choices don't always hit the bullseye, but the album has enough quality song writing and musicianship that the listening experience is a memorable one.
For those who don't know, this is another Carla Kihlstedt project (Tin Hat Trio, Book of Knots, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum); if you like her other projects, there's a good chance you'll find something to appreciate here. |
