One of those albums that makes Reign In Blood feel mellow.rAnd probably Darkness Descends too.rVocals are scary, songs are insanely fast, riffs are cool, drumming is amazing, bass is nice and audible; generally a thrash gem.

This is one of the greatest thrash metal gems I've found in my life. I'd given World Circus a listen, but this album manages to be immensely progressive and also very disturbing at times like the title track. Overall this is one of the best thrash metal albums you've most likely not heard of.

I got my first taste of this album accidentally as there was an error on Spotify that caused "Tortured Soul Appearance" from this to replace "Excoriating Abdominal Emination" from Carcass's Symphonies Of Sickness. While it obvious that it didn't belong on that album, it was still pretty catchy and heavy, and the rest of this album follows suit. One of the few reallllly solid modern death metal albums.

Predictable and slower than their last work, but it's consistently strong and the melodic

someone forgot to use a high pass filter on the guitars

edit: this is a callout. wretched cacophony sir you have messed up my good man. yes that is what a
hi-pass filter does, but the reason it is required is that the bottom end of the guitars has too
much low end resonance and thus muddies up the bottom end of the kicks and bass during sections
with lots of palm muting

Despite not liking this for a while, I think it deserves credit for pulling off a generic tech death style quite well and a way that is quite well structured by the genres standards. I enjoy it a lot more now that I don't take it so seriously.

Compared to their last two this is a lot more boring, less groovy and too dense in sound in the wrong kind of way. Still a decent brutal death metal albumr

What separates this from the rest of the wank pack is that it actually has decently structured songs and some memorable riffs. It isn't brilliant but it's certainly better than crap like Brain Drill.

2.0 poor
Annihilator The One
The vocals put me off in less than a second. Padden's voice was made for evil growls, not this.
Annihilator All for You
Dave Padden ruins this band. The vocals are made even worse because of the terrible lyrics on this and later albums.
Anthrax We've Come for You All
Damn, I was writing a review for this but got logged out. More of a hard rock album IMO, Scott doesn't do very good riffs.
Carcass Torn Arteries
stunningly boring, like if you made all the drum parts in heatwork half time and all the riffs rubbish
Cryptopsy The Unspoken King
