Michael Keene has multiple vocal-personality disorder. I think the biggest problem with his
cleans on this particular album is that somewhere between his approach and delivery, he
sounds like he's trying to be everyone but himself. Sometimes he sounds too much to the
likes of Jerry Cantrell, Devin Townsend, etc. While you could argue that he does this to
avoid stagnation, I feel he lacks an "identity" that could really make his clean vocals
shine through in a positive way. |
