5.0 classic
Aborted Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage...
Abysmal Torment Omnicide
Impressively unique, I find no faults with the production. A brutal death metal classic, with a bit of a twist due to the unique riffing. Embalment is just fucking epic.
Between the Buried and Me The Silent Circus
Between the Buried and Me Colors
Simply an essential metal album ever released... from the soft intro Track, Foam Born A, to the incredible shredding showcased in the 14 minute epic, White Walls, this album contains it all. Even a hoedown part. And its all performed flawlessly live. The definition of epic.

Mudvayne L.D. 50
the essential nu metal album to have from a rather stale genre... get it just for Martinie's
bass playing. Sets a standard for metal bassists with the unique lines he plays, with the
chords and harmonics. The drumming is great, with some nice polyrhythmic lines. The other
star of the album are Chad Gray's vocals, which were at heights he hasn't since returned to.
The emotions are conveyed incredibly well, and do more than just sound like an angry little
boy (unlike most nu metal... *coughKorncough*). Overall this is simply an amazing metal
album to have.
Obscura Retribution
Power Rangers Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Album: A Rock Adv
Suicide Silence No Time to Bleed
a deathcore classic, totally blows the cleansing out of the water. Disengage has a sludgy feel to it, while Wasted is straight up brutal. this album is deathcore executed in an excellent fashion, exploring other ideas while staying heavy as all shit. Impressive.

First off, this really isn't deathcore. This is more in the vein of brutal death metal/grindcore, as there are very few breakdowns throughout the album. When there are the breakdowns, they are massive and utilized well. The drumming is ridiculous, and the lyrics are a high point as well. One of the most impressive things I've heard in a long while, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them.

Fast, brutal, some great solos, this is an excellent death metal album. The breakdowns are rather enjoyable, and its seriously catchy. A must have.
Cage (USA-NY) Depart From Me
This is the first hip hop record that I have ever been able to listen to from cover to cover... it is angry, it is sadistic, it is morose, and most of all it is emotionally affecting. This is what the genre needs from more of its artists.

This album surprised the hell out of me, with its unique vocals and impressive drumming. Add in some groovy breakdowns and some interesting guitarwork (the melodic solo at the end of Samael the Destroyer, for instance) sealed the deal. Good deathcore :0
