Circle Of Contempt Artifacts In Motion
City and Colour Sometimes
City and Colour Live at the Orange Lounge
City and Colour Little Hell
I developed such a strong bond with both 'bring me your love' and 'sometimes' which I don't think this can replace. This is more mellow, paced at a slower tempo throughout - compared to BMYL. This album lacks some of the catchy hooks and some emotion which were so evident in previous releases. In saying that though, some songs are magnificent. Overall, a great record, one which won't leave my car for a while.
CityCop The Hope In Forgiving & Giving Up Hope
Coerce Silver Tongued Life Licker

A Bullet For Pretty Boy Revision: Revise
Couldve been a lot better. The cleans provide some really catchy hooks. Screaming a little overdone at times. Nonetheless an enjoyable release. Took a few spins to appreciate it.
Adept Silence The World
Solid release compared to their last. Definitely a varied and compelling listen.
Adeste In Parables
After Me, The Flood Remembrance
Aglacia Generator. Operator. Destroyer.
By no means original, but executed well.
All That Remains The Fall of Ideals
Anberlin Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place
As I Lay Dying An Ocean Between Us
Avenged Sevenfold Waking the Fallen
blink-182 Neighborhoods
A great release minus a few tracks which I dislike entirely. This could have been awesome, it just falls a little short. Been listening to them since I was 13 so I'll always have a soft spot for their music.
Brand New Daisy
Breakdown Of Sanity Mirrors
Quite good, I like the breakdowns. Not a fan of the attempt in cleans. The overall feel of the album would have benefited from the extraction of the cleans.
Bring Me The Horizon Sempiternal
This breaks through their course of previously failed attempts at making a successful record. A great release from a band I never thought deserved the time of day.
Bullet For My Valentine Bullet For My Valentine
Cinema Sleep Make Your Way
Close Your Eyes Empty Hands and Heavy Hearts
They need to string together more songs like paper thin. Overall, quite catchy with each track providing it's own little charm.

I Killed The Prom Queen Music for the Recently Deceased
In Mourning Monolith
It Prevails Capture & Embrace
It Prevails Findings
A little disappointing that there are only 3 tracks. Yes you can call it generic, but it's bloody good.
Jonny Craig A Dream Is A Question You Don't Know How To Answer
La Dispute Wildlife
The Instrumentals are absolutely amazing - as always. BUT i can't help but feel that the vocals are lacking variety. It's just too repetitive. Change it up a little. This could have been killer.
Lead Hands Decoder
Lower Than Atlantis Far Q
Make Do and Mend End Measured Mile
Memphis May Fire The Hollow
First EP was the best. I really hope this is better than Sleepwalking cos that pretty much sucked
Memphis May Fire Challenger
Like always, a decent effort, however, I'm slightly disappointed in the direction Matt takes with his
vocals at times. His voice is great (although a little high pitched) but the placement of certain melodies in
some of the choruses just don't seem right - resulting in a lack of flow in each song (apparent in 'legacy'
especially). Other than that, this is quite an enjoyable listen which took me a little while to get into.
|
Misery Signals Controller
More Than A Thousand Vol. 4 Make Friends and Enemies
Generic? Maybe a little... BUT this record is hard, fast and catchy as fuck.
No Bragging Rights Cycles
Norma Jean Meridional
Northlane Discoveries
Of Mice & Men The Flood
A couple of stand out tracks. Not a bad effort, its obvious they put their heart into this.
Oh, Sleeper When I Am God
Oh, Sleeper Children of Fire
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez どういたしまして
Parkway Drive Don't Close Your Eyes
Parkway Drive Horizons
Parkway Drive Deep Blue
A solid release. It's not going to make metal history in music, it's not ground breaking but it's enjoyable and well produced. After having the album on repeat since it's release I've noticed that in comparison to most metalcore bands these days, parkway now lack technicality, evident in the guitars. Some songs are too slow and lose the punch that previous albums brought. In saying that, the majority of the songs are solid. I'm disappointed that this could have been so much better.
Parkway Drive Atlas
Better than Deep Blue - that's good enough for me. Can't wait to hear this. r
Periphery Periphery
Pierce the Veil Selfish Machines
Pierce the Veil Collide With the Sky
The end of 'bulls in the Bronx is epic'. This album is infectiously catchy. Better than previous releases for sure.
Resist the Thought Damnation
Senses Fail The Fire
Sex Pistols Never Mind The Bollocks
Shai Hulud Reach Beyond the Sun
Stick To Your Guns The Hope Division
Stolas Living Creatures
The Air I Breathe Great Faith In Fools
Listened to about half so far. All I can say for now is great musicianship, effected by mediocre cleans and generic melodies.
The Amity Affliction High Hopes
The Devil Wears Prada Zombie
musically i think its quite good. the screams are solid. however, still quite generic and repetitive.
The Devil Wears Prada Dead Throne
This is surprisingly really good. Their best release.... and I wasn't a fan of their music before this
The Devin Townsend Project Ghost
I appreciate the beauty of this album more than I actually enjoy it. It strangely reminds me of avatar every
time I listen to it. Would have been the perfect sound track to accompany the movie. As far fetched as that
sounds. |
The Gaslight Anthem American Slang
The Ghost Inside Get What You Give
Seaanemone. Really, a 1? Why some bother rating is beyond me.
A great effort, but this is not better than their previous work.
|
The Word Alive Empire
Thrice Major/Minor
Thursday No Devolucion
For a reason unknown, I cant get into this as much as I would've liked to. maybe I have to give it a few more spins. however, i do understand why this has such a high rating, its probably the most non generic release in the genre for 2011.
Trenches The Tide Will Swallow Us Whole
Troubled Coast Letters
Underoath Disambiguation
ok EDIT previous remark. Listened to it heaps. Its Good.
Upon a Burning Body The World Is Ours
Violet The Brightside
We Are The Emergency Rations
Bring you home is killer.
Your soundoff was too short, it has to be at least 50 characters |
3.0 good
A Day To Remember Homesick
A Skylit Drive Identity On Fire
Their previous efforts were so bad I didn't bother rating either. This on first listen is better than both and I cant help feel a little impressed with them. Cleans are still on the homo side though. I agree with that.
Adept Death Dealers
OK so after a few more listens, I've come to the conclusion that the album lyrically, is shallow. Some lyrics are just horrid. Musically it's quite inventive (for post hardcore) and you can even say that it has its moments where it shines. The evident choruses of most songs are where this albums fails. While everything else works quite well, this area lacks substance and creativity, resulting in overall dissatisfaction. However, I can't compare this to their previous record as I've never listened to it.
Alexisonfire Old Crows / Young Cardinals
Anberlin New Surrender
Architects Daybreaker
Its not the hollow crown follow up we all hoped for. However, it's not the huge disappointment we all expected either.
Atreyu The Curse
blink-182 Dogs Eating Dogs
Bloc Party Four
Bloc party have returned with 50% of their drive from silent alarm. Their mellow songs far outweigh their upbeat
tracks. Cut this album in half and it would've made a killer ep.And - how is this/intimacy superior to silent alarm?
Some people on here must be on something. |
Bring Me The Horizon There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It
First of all, the quality of mine sucked. However, considering they have a decent new guitarist I hoped they would have used this to their advantage, but they didn't. Musically the album lacks. There's still too much chugging throughout and not enough diversity. The guest vocals on Fuck and the use of Lights on two tracks add a nice touch to the album overall.
Broadway Kingdoms
Chiodos Illuminaudio
Chromatics Kill For Love
Circa Survive On Letting Go
Comeback Kid Broadcasting
Daft Punk Random Access Memories
Because its not released yet and people keep rating it
Darkest Hour Deliver Us
Deaf Havana Fools And Worthless Liars
Not that amazing. Best track by far is little white lies.
Dreamshade The Gift of Life
Elder (USA-PA) Reflect
Vocals are way too low, I can barely hear them. production sucks. Some songs drag on. All in all a good release. However, I was expecting a little more after reading the review.
Emarosa Emarosa
Eminem Recovery
I got this purely out of curiosity. Not being a fan of hip hop, this album is quite solid. Shits all over Encore and Relapse.
Evergreen Terrace Almost Home
For The Fallen Dreams Back Burner
The first songs chorus reminds me of something Emery has done in the past, just can't put my finger on it. I sorta like
it. Nothing new here. Previous releases were heaps better |
Friend For A Foe Source of Isolation
Gideon Costs
Gotye Making Mirrors
I was expecting a dark and immersive record, going by the first release off the album. His slower paced, highly emotional tracks are amazing, however, tracks like 'I feel better' ruin the experience.
Greeley Estates No Rain, No Rainbow
Greeley Estates The Death of Greeley Estates
House Vs. Hurricane Perspectives
Lions!Tigers!Bears! Shallow Waters, Endless Depth
Some songs are quite interesting. Others are boring, done before. Liking the high screams. Cleans are generic and melodies lack creativity. Get the color morale.
Lower Definition The Infinite Et Cetera
I don't understand how everyone thinks this band is so good. It's a decent release at best.
Mt Eden Mt Eden Album
Our Last Night We Will All Evolve
Pierce the Veil A Flair For The Dramatic
Protest the Hero Scurrilous
What were they thinking? Massive let down. Defeater officially has all my attention.
Secret And Whisper Teenage Fantasy
Listened to it a lot more and found it wasn't as good as I thought
Shadows Chasing Ghosts The Golden Ratio
Couple of good tracks. Other than that, I'm really failing to see how this is a 4.5
Skyway Take These Days
Stick To Your Guns Diamond
The Plot In You First Born
This is ok. Too much chugging, not enough variety. Every song sounds the same.
The Subtle Way Thus Far, the Channels Speak
Vanna And They Came Baring Bones
A little disappointing. Is it just me or is it boring and bland? Few good songs... but its back to Leveler for me.
Write This Down Write This Down
