Far At Night We Live
I am IN LOVE with this album. So much in fact, that, after listening to it I cruised right on over to their official site, and pre-ordered it. This album is a grower, I wasn't to impressed with it on 1st, 2nd, or even 3rd listen but the more I spun the record, the more I enjoyed it. Today, when I woke up, I threw the record on again and it just clicked. My advice to anyone who likes Far, BUY THIS RECORD and support the band! They most def. deserve it. Contender for album of the year, IMO. Thank you Far for crafting another masterpiece.

Better than "Carpe Diem". By a lot. Riffs are heavy as hell. Tons of atmosphere. Reminds me of walking down a
dark street in Salem Mass during the great witch hunts. Thank you WHVN. |

Gave this album 5 spins already and I must say, I thoroughly enjoy it. As time passes I suspect this album will grow on me even more as the atmosphere runs thick on this offering. Love how the album ends how it starts allowing the listener to absorb it as a consistent piece of music. I'll definately be buying this.

OK, after sitting with this album for 2 days I have to say, I am THOROUGHLY impressed. Some of the melodies creep into your brain slllloooowwwllllyyy and stay there only to torture you into playing the record again. I love Versions and I loved You Come Before You but this album is incredible and will soon become a classic. This and ISIS' Wavering Radiant are fighting each other for the best album of 2009.... So far... No doubt about it, this record definately deserves a 5!

This album is refreshing in so many ways. The angular guitar work, the occultic vocals, the downtrodden drum movements, that get eerily dancy in certain parts, and brutal in others. The reason I gave this a 5 is because, one would be hard pressed to find something this original and captivating, among the shit being dished out now-a-days. Get this album and visit the dark parts of your psyche.

Deftones Diamond Eyes
I've been spinning this album since March 19th, steadily comming to the conclusion that, Diamond Eyes, is in fact, Deftones best release to date. My favorite will always be their S/T album but this one is slowly seeping into my brain like some sort of robotic implant. Lush arrangements, Meshuggah-esq riffs, and Chino is stellar! Abe and Sergio lock up for some truly twisted grooves while Frank pumps out the atmospherics. I'm still curious as to what Eros sounds like, but since this album is so good, that curiousity is completely overshadowed by pure bliss. I'm going to buy everyone in my town a copy of this album, and force them to listen to it... Repeatedly. It's a solid 4.5 as of right now, but I imagine it will eventually make it's way up to a 5. Thank you Deftones.
