Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
Taking Back Sunday New Again
I'm a long time fan of this band and I completely agree that it's their most mature album to date, and I'd say even more, this is their best album to date. Don't get me wrong, I really loved Tell All Your Friends back in '02, it defined the sound of a generation of musicians would try to capsulize, but that my friend, oh that were at best better than teenage poetry (“man, that was ages ago...”). They're a grown up band now, and for the first tmme ever, I feel them as an accomplished band. There're no sign of ego fights whatsoever and they seem to have som real good fun with all of this. If this album is a statement of the things to come, they can count me aboard for that. I feel very lucky for having a band that I really can connect to that never dumbed down their sound. This is no blink (even though I love them, come on these dudes are almost in their fourties and still writing adolescent music. I love them, I'm really excited for their come back but, come on), this is a band that I can rest assure that will grow up with me. And I really want to thank them for that.

Brand New Daisy
Emery ...In Shallow Seas We Sail
Since Thrice's Alchemy Index, the biggest trend between scene bands is throwing around
some pirate/sailor references and call it an album. Some bands like As Cities Burn and
Silverstein even make amazing and beautiful albums using those premises. I don't think
Emery has achieved that with this album, it just feels uninspired and unoriginal. Since
IOAM I just can't feel this band. And even though there're some stand out tracks in this
like Churches and Serial Killers and ...In Shallow Seas We Sail, it's just too little,
too late, too meh. Really disappointed with this one, all the hype surrounding it really
got my hopes high for this.

2.0 poor
Emery I'm Only A Man

1.0 awful
The Dangerous Summer Reach for the Sun
One of the most overrated bands I've seen in my whole life. There's nothing this band has done that The Starting Line haven't done before and better. WAY better.
