The Lawrence Arms Buttsweat and Tears
Nearly four years after releasing a minor modern punk masterpiece in Oh! Culcutta!, the veteran Chicago trio return and quell any fears that they'd lost their wit and penchant for crafting gritty, relatable pop-punk songs. Even though it comes in just south of 14 minutes in length, Buttsweat and Tears is easily one of the strongest punk efforts of 2009.

Eminem Recovery
With no stupid skits, no shitty accent and the best production that's ever been at his disposal, Recovery makes the shitheaps that were Encore and Relapse seem like anomalies. His best since MMLP.rAnd Bulldog wouldn't know good hip-hop if it wrote a blog about him.

Ceremony Zoo
Jay-Z Kingdom Come
Kanye West 808s & Heartbreak
Lupe Fiasco Lasers

1.5 very poor
Eminem Relapse
I would have liked to see Eminem make this album more serious and introverted, because it's during those extremely brief moments when this album is okay (Beautiful and Underground are vintage Em). At the end of the day, though, his choppy flow and weird accent simply ruin the vast majority of the songs.
Say Anything Say Anything

1.0 awful
Say Anything Anarchy, My Dear
