Anberlin Vital
This album is so good. Most definitely my album of the year, of the past two years, maybe five years.

Fantastimo Fantastimo Journey
The myriad sounds heard here--sometimes
delightfully optimistic, sometimes as dark as a
cavern, always deeply moving and hypnotic--serve to
make the songs seem much shorter than they really
are: this magnificent EP will be over before you know
it and you will feel compelled to press play again,
immersing yourself in the sonic voyage anew. This
will be played, end to end, ad infinitum, for the rest
of your life. Such is the power of Fantastimo.

Although Leviathan was inspired by Herman
Melville's great American novel Moby-Dick and not
the biblical tale of Jonah and the whale, the album
envelopes you much in the same way as the whale
swallows the man: you cannot escape its clutch, but
you will emerge as a changed man.

O'Brother Disillusion
I've been waiting for new O'Brother since I first saw them live on the Thrice farewell tour. Their debut album Garden Window was phenomenal, but Disillusion is simply better in every single possible way, especially songs like Come Into The Divide and Perilous Love. The notion that Disillusion is a sophomore record unbelievable, when taking into account the maturity and skill and musicianship evident in this album. While listening, I couldn't stop grinning ear to ear. This is what I've been waiting for.

The Human Abstract Digital Veil
Initially I rated this a four. Perhaps I had succumbed to the 'everything is relative' phenomenon. Digital Veil is infinitely superior to Midheaven. Travis Richter is infinitely better than Nathan Ells. Digital Veil is the Mona Lisa to Midheaven's Crayola scribbles. Digital Veil is a masterpiece when compared to the garbage that is Midheaven. But, ultimately, Digital Veil is only good.
