| How I see it, Somewhere at the Bottom of the River and the Untitled 7" succeeded because both the rinstrumentation and Jordan's vocals were dripping with passion; it was raw fury, anger, and despair in musical rform. rOn Wildlife, it seems that they wanted to balance the two, as opposed to both vocals and the band at the rforefront, and have the focus be on creating atmosphere and focusing on Jordan's fantastic storytelling. rHowever, neither the band nor Jordan is willing to step up to the plate and they both seem to be taking the rbackseat, neither ever really stealing the spotlight. Even Jordan's usually top notch poeticism seems to have rvanished. The final result doesn't even seem like La Dispute anymore; it's lifeless and dull.rI'm also quite upset by the sheer lack of DARLING |
