Lupe Fiasco The Cool
With The Cool Lupe proved that he is one of the better (if not best) emcees out there. Sure, some of the songs are similar in content, but they are all much more original and technical than the average song from Kanye or Jeezy these days.

In comparison to other albums that I've listened to from artists like The Game, Kanye, Jeezy, T.I., and others, The Cool is easily the most impressive Hip-Hop album in recent memory. Lupe's rhymes and flow are near impeccable on this album, and I cannot wait to hear his next album.

Trivium Shogun
At first Shogun seemed to me like an attempt to expand on The Crusade, and was a bit of a let down. I waited a few weeks and tracks from it started popping up on my WinampiPod shuffles and then I decided to give it another shot.
The 2nd time around this album blew me away. It's somewhat of a "Missing Link" between The Crusade and Ascendancy where they take the better parts of both albums and combine them.

Guns N' Roses Chinese Democracy
This album is by no means a masterpiece, if anything it is a disappointment. But all too often when something disappoints people are quick to exaggerate about the actual product. Chinese Democracy is far from terrible, but because people were expecting Appetite for Destruction Pt. 2 they quickly wrote it off as a bad album.

Overall this album is a great accomplishment. For me the title track was if not the best, at least one of them. It was one hell of an opening track, that's for sure. My personal favorites are "Better", "Riad N The Bedouins", and "This Is Love". Overall the album was a good listen, and the songs I listed I find catchy as hell, but I was kind of hoping for more.

Kid Cudi Man on the Moon: The End of Day
The final product; after dozens of mix tapes and months of hype. KiD CuDi presents the world with Man On The Moon: The End Of Day. The big question is, was it worth the wait? It depends on the perspective, I personally find the album disappointing, because I know CuDi is capable of better. Truth be told I think both Dat Kid and KiD Named CuDi would have made better albums. MotM presents a few fan favorites from said mix tapes, but a lot of the new songs fail to impress new or old listeners. The entire narration done by Common is nothing more than an annoyance that pops up every 3-5 tracks to remind you this is a faux hip-hop story, or at least trying to be one.

The saving grace for this album is the solid production and very unique beats. If you can accept KiD CuDi falling short of his potential you'll probably love Man On The Moon. At this point KiD CuDi can only get better, or unfortunately much worse. I am very optimistic about his sophomore album, and MotM is a solid album, just not as good as I hoped.

808's is a bold move on Kanye's part, I was not really a fan of him before, but this didn't do anything to help that. This album is his first attempt at creating something of his own, and it is entirely forgettable. After the 5th or 6th track you'll start to realize every song just sounds too similar and uninspired.
