While Deconstruction is a record you listen to get a great kick out off, Ghost is something you can really dive into and get lost in its atmospheres, the scenery that it envisions and warmth it radiates. It's all just really sincere and natural. A beautiful way of closure to this successful project.

Fairyland Score to a New Beginning
Fast and bombastic power metal with the emphasis on keyboards. This is the first album of Fairyland where guest performers are used with the keyboard player being the sole remaining member.
This is, in my opinion a step in the right direction. It gets better with every new album. Just listen to the catchy ''Assault On The Shores'' to get a taste of the album.
The contribution of Serenity's vocalist is a welcomed addition. One of the few critiques you can give it is the lack of originality. It tends to sound a bit like what you can expect from Blind Guardian / Rhapsody, but this is less noticeable than in the previous record, so this can be somewhat overlooked
In the end it doesn't always have to be very original, especially not within the power metal realm. As long as the music is well executed, I am happy, and that's exactly what this album makes you.
It's about as great as fantasy metal can get, for me at least.

Anubis Gate Anubis Gate
Easily their best effort so far. rNothing too special for the progressive/power metal genre, but nevertheless an album that contains very solid songwriting with excellent vocal delivery which makes it a very fun record to listen to.
Anubis Gate Horizons
Arjen Anthony Lucassen Lost in the New Real
Ayreon Into the Electric Castle
Barren Earth Curse of the Red River
A great Progressive Death Metal album with Folk and Doom overtones. From a band with members from Amorphis, Moonsorrow and Swallow the Sun you can certainly expect something enjoyable. And those expectations have been more than widely fulfilled. Great riffs, melancholic vocals, soothing keyboard melodies and folky interludes are present throughout the entire album, accompanied by a splendid production from the one and only Dan Swano, which guarantees for a crystal clear sound .
Everyone who's stoked on Opeth, Amorphis and Swallow The Sun will love this. But really, with music from this magnitude, anyone who likes metal should give this a good listen.

The amount of stuff happening on this album is overwhelming. Truly a massive symphonic metal opera that incorporates everything the man has ever done and easily a contender for AOTY 2011.
Dream Theater Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Dream Theater Black Clouds and Silver Linings
In my opinion their best album since 6DOIT. Although the choruses of AROP and Wither are a bit underwhelming. ANTR, TSF and TCOT are all great Dream theater songs, and TBOT has an awesome solo at the end. Way better than Systematic Chaos indeed.

Totally feeling with it, but why is almost every song so needlessly long? Most of these tracks
hardly warrant more than 4 minutes in length, but it just keeps going and going with little to
no progression. Otherwise it's really nice.
