5.0 classic
Default The Fallout
I like Default. The Fallout was their best album to date. Yeah, if you don't like their style, alot of the songs sound generic or re-hashed. But if this is the type of music you're into, the songs each have a distinct sound. Heavy guitar riffs and powerful vocals are my thing when it comes to rock music, and these guys suit my taste very well. Their lyrics aren't going to change the world, but there are times I get tired of my music preaching to me.
Saying Dallas sounds like Chad is absurd. They sometimes sing in the same tempos and keys, but that's because Chad wrote a good portion of the songs on this album. Chad's voice is gravelly and thick; unique in its own right. Dallas's voice is crisp and raw, and also unique, like it or hate it.

3.5 great
Default Elocation
No, the lyrics won't change worlds. No, you're not going to find anything earth-shatteringly different here. And the simple fact is, if you're not a fan, you won't become one. However, if you like Default's style, they'll consistently deliver great music without being too preachy (which some equate with the strangely positive "offensive"), and it's nice to have a break from music that tries to persuade you to see the world through the writer's eyes. If you want substance, go elsewhere. If you want a great sounding band that you can passively rock out to, pickup a Default album. Great driving music as well.
