Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Nine Inch Nails The Fragile
I tend to look at this album as a double album only half the time. it makes the experience better. the first disc is absolutely amazing, it has some of trents angriest songs, some of his most beautiful, the best instrumentals, and some of his only love songs, all of it arranged perfectly. The second disc, on the other hand, is a lot moodier and less consistent, which is why i only sometimes listen to this album "completely". The second disc poses a trade-off, listening to it enhances the mood and experience, but takes away from the pure musical consistency. So, when im looking for an amazing listen, i go for the first disc, when i feel like going the extra mile and immersing myself in the concept and mood of the album much more, then i listen to the album in its entirety.

Fears of the bands demise due to brandon curtis' departure quickly fade after you listen to this album. The sound is more secret machines-y than ever, and still unique (the fire is waiting). Every song is very well written, and very different from all the others. overall, its a very solid album, better than ten silver drops by a load, but not quite as good as now here is nowhere

The Ghostship demos had a raw aggression to them that seemed to suit them perfectly. The finished version on this album are much more polished (lots more effects, layered tracks, clean singing) and have a few extra bits added to them. Although lots of the intensity is lost, the rest of the songs are overall, better. The concept and execution of it is one of the most emotional ive heard (compares to the wall IMO). The musicianship is better then anything TFOT have ever put out. The added bits seem slightly out of place on some of the songs though, thats the only thing i see bringing my rating down over time.
