This was the album that really did it for me, and it made me love electronic music in all it's styles and forms. Close to perfection and yet still so experimental and human..
The album starts off with the classic Dark and Long to set the tone for the album, and in fact for the band's new direction and sound as a whole. Although i truly love the (Dark Train) remix of this track I'm glad that this is the version that ended up on the album as it fits' the rest of the album better. So dark, so moody, it paints a cityscape at night and gets you in the mood to fall hopelessly in love with the next track, Mmmm, skyscraper I love you. My favourite song for years and still on my everlasting top list. I won't do the album track by track as most of these songs only really shine when the album is played from start to finish. Everybody should at least give this album a chance some late night with headphones. The grit of the production has just gotten better in time, and music just doesn't sound like this anymore. I need to play this again right now, and so should you! |
