| An Endless Sporadic set their bar high with Ameliorate, so I was expecting a lot out of their first full-length album. Though they didn't release the masterpiece I had hoped for, they released a great, original album. There is a lot less guitar, and many songs are more focused on synth or piano, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but many will be turned off by it. One thing present on Ameliorate that I wish there was more of are the chaotic, breakdown-esque sections. They are greatly missed. This album is a bit of a grower, but if you want a proggy, jazzy, original experience, this is a wonderful album from a promising new band. |

| This pretty much sounds like new TFOT, but it's better than In The Unlikely Event. The noodling/shredding is toned down a little bit, Erak's vocals are pretty bad on some tracks and pretty good on others, and there are actually some decent attempts at ballads and pop punk songs. | So I've been listening to this album for a week now and I don't understand why i keep listening to it. The Devil Wears Prada is a very generic band with really nothing special to offer musically, but there is an X-factor to the band that allows me to listen to them over and over again. Perhaps it's the mindlessness of the music that makes it listenable, or it could be a subconscious thought of knowing that listening to this band infinitely increases my chances of having sex with a hot scene chick. Regardless of why I like this album it is a guilty pleasure of mine and it helps me meet generic looking scene girls at shows :P |
