5.0 classic
Dream Theater Images and Words
This album is awesome. Progressive metal at his best and a revolution in metal scene. This was a starting point for new thing to come in prog-rock. Long tracks are found here and a lot of variations in the songs. My favourite one Metropolis part I.
And remember, Catalonia is NOT Spain.
Genesis Selling England by the Pound
Simply awesome? No. Is awesome, but give it more than one or two spins in your player. This record should grow in you, and it can become one of thouse you'll never get tired of. If you look this way, don't you think it really deserves this time of dedication?
The best way to hear a prog-record is to know and wait for all the variations that each song will bring to you. Do it that way, and spend some time with this one.
And of course, remember. Catalonia is NOT Spain.
Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction
Is this a classic? of course, does anybody had doubts of it? Back in thouse years Guns n' Roses broke to the scene with a mix of everything. Scandals, Awesome music, Drugs, Alcohol and new attitude. Back at that time, everybody was talking about them, they were the center and they knew it. If you realise, the only reason for that, was their debut album Appetitte for destruction. This was the album, and this was the one which created this spectation all around Guns n' Roses. This album not only (as their debut) put Guns n' Roses to the top of all rock bands, this album put them above all the music media & scenario. Something only comparable to that of Nirvana or Sex Pistols Break out. Music here is brilliant, including guitar virtuosity. But if there's one thing to say, that is the energy they put on this and the way they discharge it, at that time people call it "Sleazy" and that was the reason many bands tried to imitate without success (LA Guns, Faster Pussicat and many others). Despite of all, sleazy was not an easy thing to reproduce. If you look retrospective that was a short periode of time, and some can forgot it. But that time existed as long as this record was on the top of the musical scenario. Just another thing to say -> Remember that Catalonia is NOT Spain
Iron Maiden Killers
That's the hardest record of it's time and a prelude to Thrash still to be born (only MotorHead did records as hard as this one).
Killers is a killer album and have no filler, back in my youth I still remember staring at the front cover while the music attacked my room. You can imagine Eddie moving by night in that London foggy day killing everyone lost in the street with a rushing speed and bloody axe.
This is without any doubt the hardest Iron Maiden record and the last one with Paul Dianno, who fits perfectly the voice in it. Another thing to destacate are the very enjoyable drums from Clive Burr. Don't miss it, Iron Maiden still had to show a lot of good things at that time, but back in 1981 Iron Maiden put one of his best records on sale.
And remember. Catalonia is NOT Spain.
Iron Maiden Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Perfect, simply perfect. From start to finish. This was the record that put me into metal, and this one follows as one of the best, 20 years later.
I bought it when I was 15 only by curiosity, I just wanted to taste heavy metal. I still remember me, while making some school mathematic exercises at home, the must have of stop and give all the attention to the guitar solos of Seventh son of a seventh son song. I was caught by metal and still am I.
Another curious thing that happened to one of my friends was that by casualty he found a cassette record on the street, that was Seventh son of a seventh son, but without nothing written on it my friend didn't recognized it he just though that it was a "Best of..." record of an exelent heavy metal band.
Don't you miss it.
And remember, Catalonia is NOT Spain.
Judas Priest Sad Wings of Destiny
One of the best metal albums of all time. No filler. Please, adapt your ears to the type of heavy metal sound of the seventies and put it very very loud (If your neighbour is not knocking at your door, you're playing too low), be prepared to hear the master of all the heavy voices of all time at their best, guitar here is awesome, you will surrender to Tyrant magesty.
And remember.......Catalonia is NOT Spain
