John Mayer Continuum
I never thought I'd listen to John Mayer. "Room for Squares" was cheesy to me and seemed like another acoustic guy with a lot of sweet sounding music to play to his adoring college girl fans. The second album was a lot of the same. I thought "Your body is a wonderland" was a cheap trick, and "Daughters" was a little clever but nothing special.
This album completely changed my mind. Wow. John Mayer is a freaking songwriter if I ever heard one. He's really let loose on this album. It's very adult and fearless. There's so many different types of music in here, primarily resting on awesomely crafted R&B and Blues rhythms. Some of the songs on this album made me wanna cry, it's so honest. Check out Dreaming With A Broken Heart, Vultures, Slowdancing in a Burning Room, and Stop This Train. Pick up this album now, especially if you never thought you'd listen to John Mayer.
