First time I heard Curtains as a single blew my mind. And the production is insane! Almost perfect if not for a couple of slight fillers (Solemn, Fireflies), though the rest of the album is worthy of a 5 rating. Favourite Track: Curtains Other Highlights: Matter, Indigo, Arp, Everything (All At Once)Glass Ocean The Remnants of Losing Yourself in Someone ElseOne of the best albums I've ever heard. This is how you mix pop, prog & R&B. And the vocals are on another level. Soul Slumber & Burn comfortably fit within my top 10 of all time. I look back on Puzzle fondly, it has some great moments on it (Now I'm Everyone, The Conversation Is..., 9/15ths) that's unfortunately bogged down by some forgettable duds in the "too safe" category (Saturday Superhouse, A Whole Child Ago, Love Has A Diameter)Biffy Clyro Only RevolutionsClosure in Moscow First TempleClosure in Moscow Pink LemonadeColdplay X&YColdplay A Rush of Blood to the HeadColdplay Ghost StoriesFrost* Falling SatellitesGazpacho BravoGazpacho Get It While It's Cold (37ÂșC)Gazpacho When Earth Lets GoGazpacho SoyuzPorcupine Tree In AbsentiaPortishead DummyPure Reason Revolution Amor Vincit OmniaRaised By Swans raised by swans is the name of a man, volume 1Reuben Very Fast Very DangerousPerhaps this one stings more due to how highly I rate Racecar, but gone are many of the things that made that album so special for me. Gone (for the most part) are the soaring moments found in the likes of No-One Wins The War, Stuck In My Throat & Moving To Blackwater, and they've instead adopted a more hardcore approach. Which isn't bad, just doesn't work for me. Everytime A Teenager Listens To Drum & Bass A Rockstar Dies is still a banger though and among the best they produced. It has all those moments that made Reuben special.Steven Wilson InsurgentesSteven Wilson Grace for DrowningSucioperro The Heart String And How To Pull ItThe Pineapple Thief DissolutionTool 10,000 DaysVOLA Witness2.0 poorBiffy Clyro OppositesQuantity over quality much? I know Biffy churn out tracks with tons of b-sides. I don't think a double album was ever necessary though.Hayley Williams FLOWERS for VASES / descansosKarnivool ThemataSteven Wilson The Future BitesThe Pineapple Thief MagnoliaI really think these guys need to focus on quality over quantity. They churn out multiple albums that all sound the same, bland and uninspired for the most part, with the odd highlight. This is one of the weakest out of all the ones I've listened to. Less proggy which was maybe the only thing going for them. Only song that stands out for me is Alone At Sea.The Pineapple Thief Versions of the TruthOne of the blandest offerings from a very bland band. Don't really understand the hype around them in the prog community, they're like a watered down Porcupine Tree (which is ironic with the addition of Gavin Harrison). Demons is just E minor song. Even with Gavin Harrison, these guys don't seem to ever want to explore new territory, which isn't always necessary, though sorely needed here. Though maybe it's just me...1.5 very poorBiffy Clyro EllipsisOne to wedge the door open with... On the bright side, Wolves Of Winter is perhaps the biggest steaming pile of garbage they've done, so the only way is up from there.Empire State Bastard Rivers Of Heresy1.0 awfulYou Me At Six Take Off Your ColoursMusic is uninspired at best, but it's the lyrics that are dreadful Just some bloke whining about how he's the ultimate catch and that women are whores
