[DVD]Tim Minchin Apart Togetherapart together is Tim's most serious album but it absolutley slaps. There's a good mix of styles and he has somehow maintained the level of lyrical genius that he is known for. the title track "apart together" specifically stands out as a fucking brilliant story with many real-world allegories and critiques, but the whole album is very well articulated as always. rTim does away with the anti-religious themes for this album, focusing more on love, loneliness, and travel.4.0 excellentDark Tranquillity MomentDream Theater Distance Over TimeEpica OmegaThe Comet Is Coming Hyper-Dimensional Expansion BeamTrivium In the Court of the Dragon3.5 greatDream Theater A View from the Top of the WorldEmpyrium Über den Sternen Not sure where the hate is coming from. After a first listen, it's a pretty album that borrows from classical music and develops nicely. As a first-time listener to the band, the vocal style is unique and interesting as this genre goes. If you like Kamelot you'll probably like this band too. rBut don't go in expecting heavy metal shredding all over the place. It's an atmospheric, artistic ballad, and it's not much of a headbanger.Rush Clockwork AngelsVexes Imagine What We Could Destroy / If Only Given TimeHonestly super well made album. I don't like the metalcore-esque vocals but it's very very good. The rest of the album is quite forgettable, however. And with the inclusion of songs like "See You", that are completely must-Skip, I don't think I can in good faith give this a higher rating than 3.0Makaya McCraven In These TimesShe Said Destroy Succession2.5 averageArchitects For Those That Wish to ExistBig Thief Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in YouDua Lipa Future NostalgiaMoon Kissed I’d Like to Tell You Something ImportantNorma Jean Deathrattle Sing for Meprobably just a hater cuz I don't like metalcore, but a lot of these songs just feel like the same pattern where they start clean, hit hard, and stay hard and then go into a catchy chorus before slowing it down for a breakdown. This album is a cool direction, but it just doesn't have the highs/excitement I got from "alone in a room", "where did it go", really a lot of the self-titled. It feels like they understand the pattern but don't have the emotion thus far. Even the track "Find Myself" talks about this plight they have. rI sincerely hope they succeedCirca Survive A Dream About LoveKanye West DondaRush Test for EchoYAYA KIM a.k.a YAYAI found it was really long and not especially outstanding in any way. I hate rating things this low but it was a pretty random collection of songs that was very hit or miss.
