Bob Dylan Blonde on Blonde
Bob Dylan Blood on the Tracks
Without any question, Bob Dylan's most mature and gut-punching album yet. After years of alienating listeners, this album unleashes a new and broken Bob Dylan, one that has shown here the post-breakup emotions and feelings of a human being. It is highly recommended to prepare a pack of tissues for this one!

Hands-down the greatest Death Metal album I've ever heard, heck - it might even be one of the best Metal albums of all time. The technical prowess by the band's instrumentals combined with Chuck Schneider's ferocious, tiger-like voice makes this one hell of a ride.

If there's anything that hasn't been said before, this is THE defining Iron Maiden album and any metal must hear this at least once in their lives if you're a fan of the genre. This is a band standing proud at the top of their game with not a single dull moment and pure confidence.

I feel like anything that needed to be said has already been said here. Following Kanye's controvesial incident at the MTV Video Music Awards the previous year, many had thought his career had been permanently over and that he would disappear from the media, never to appear on stage again. However, what Kanye decides is to give out his most personal, raw and honest release yet. Whether you hate or love him, you cannot deny Kanye has always been a talented rapper, but I had no idea he would manage to turn a complete 180 and release possibly not only one of the best albums of the decade, but potentially even of all time. None of the verses, lyrics or beats feel derivative - they keep you glued to your chair and beg you wanting for more. Kanye has truly outdone himself and I would dare anyone to tell me otherwise if this isn't his magnum opus.

Black Sabbath Heaven and Hell
No one had expected Black Sabbath to redeem themselves this much after the two back-to-back stinkers with Mr. Osbourne ("Never Say Die!" was one of the most inappropriate and rather immature titles from them), but it turned out all they needed was the little man with the big voice to put them right back to the peak once more. Dio had taken control over their songwriting duties and gave the band a new but refreshing and necessary direction. From the hard-hitting opener Neon Knights, you can already tell from just a few seconds you're going to be in for a treat. Dio had completely rejuvenated the Sabbath, and with the production from Martin Birch (may he Rest in Peace), they breathed new life into the metal pioneers. One of their finest efforts for sure.

Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast
Now this, this right here is where Maiden's adventures really begin. With Bruce Dickinson now taking the role as the frontman, this is where they would release a string of classic albums and stretch out a lot more with their riffage and musicianship. The solos are very spread out, melodic and make for great headbangers while Dickinson covers every task as a heavy metal vocalist with flying colors. Despite being Clive Burr's last album with the band, his drumming work here also easily puts his previous works to shame. And of course, who could forget Hallowed Be Thy Name? Not only probably Maiden's best song, but also one of the most essential metal songs in the genre.

Katy Song is possibly the most honest, crushingly devastating song I've ever heard. The entire album serves as a melancholic recollection of the past and doesn't have any pretense of hiding its emotions. Many people can relate to this album.

Sweet Trip You Will Never Know Why
Possibly one of the biggest 180s I've ever seen in a band's discography. After the failed experiment known as Velocity:Design:Comfort a.k.a. how to not mix Shoegaze with IDM, looks like they've finally adopted a sound that suits them well. Production is much cleaner, less noisy and less irritating to the ears, and is rather a treat.

Avenged Sevenfold The Stage
I don't understand how can a band go from their worst effort to their best in just one album. This is a completely new, refined Avenged Sevenfold which has taken a huge risk in developing a completely different sound, one that could even bring in new fans to newcomers who have not heard an Avenged Sevenfold release yet. Shout-outs to the final song ("Exist") which is a 15-minute epic utilizing 11 different phases and passing each one with flying colors.

I hope that top soundoff is being ironic because this is a very intriguing release which not only shows how bubblegum bass kept improving, but also Charli XCX starting to experiment more and tread new grounds. The opening/eponymous track is one of the best of the genre, while the rest of the EP while not as gripping, is just as good.

Surprisingly better than No Love Deep Web even though I'm in the vocal minority who thinks so. This is what is Death Grips' least hip hop album and sees them tackling more challenging genres outside their box such as Digital Hardcore, Glitch, Synth Punk, Punk Rock & Noise Rock. The atmosphere is subversive and dark, but is also probably Death Grips' most accessible album next to The Money Store.

Faith No More King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime
Faith No More The Real Thing
Let's face it: Dumping Chuck Mosley for Mike Patton was possibly the greatest decision the other members of Faith No More had made. With Mike Patton now under their command, the band had finally refined themselves to become a true Alternative Metal phenomenon who had only begun to tread new grounds with The Real Thing. Mike Patton's eclectic and versatile vocal gimmick would make Chuck Mosley wish he were to come back. Patton, being gifted with a very rare six-octave vocal range - does different vocal styles on the album and passes them all with flying colors. He raps, screams, sings and growls. However, apart from Mike Patton, the other band members also went from pure mediocrity to finally working as a team. For the first time, no track really is skippable and is very fun to listen to and digest, particularly Epic and From Out of Nowhere.

Gorillaz Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez
After 10 years, who knew Gorillaz still had it in them? Yes, it is a record full of collaborations left & right, but shouldn't take away
from the fact that Damon Albarn's finest project has regained its footing and that you'll find yourself coming back to this one multiple
times, just like with Demon Days & Plastic Beach. Whether it be hip hop (Momentary Bliss, Pac-Man), Synthpop (Aries, Strange
Timez, The Pink Phantom), Funk (Chalk Tablet Towers), Gorillaz have once again proved us why they are the masters of crafting
an album with such versatility. The only misstep I can really think of here would easily be "Friday 13th", as the atmosphere is not
very engaging, too stagnant, and Octavian's performance sounds very underwhelming; sounds really bored & uninspired - but hey,
I'm not gonna criticize it much otherwise. 10 out of 11 highlights? I will gladly take it any day.

I'm just happy to hear a good Gorillaz album, you know?

May sound confused at first, but it's one of those albums that require more listens to be ingrained. A lot of the tracks here sound like leftovers from Kanye's early days (No More Parties In L.A. and Real Friends), and there's gospel influences (Ultralight Beam - where also Chance The Rapper outpeaks everyone during his verses) and a retrospective on his own issues (such as bipolar disorder). I love you Kanye, like Kanye loves Kanye.

Sepultura Chaos A.D.
Yes, it marks a shift in Sepultura's discography from Thrash to Groove Metal. But when you hear the first three songs for example, Sepultura's trademark Thrash sound is still there. Loses a bit of steam in the last quarter but the unique sound, experimentation & risks should nonetheless be commended. Still a fine addition containing darker and more political lyrics.

Absolutely exhilarating, ugh. Kim Gordon's performance here is the ultimate equivalent of ear sex. Just listen to Orange Rolls, Angels Spit and you'll understand what I mean. Sure, while it is nice to see Dio, Geezer and the others re-unite one last time with Iommi, the album suffers from too many slow-paced songs and Dio's voice is not the same as it used to be given he had been 49 at this point. The production is very messy where too much of the guitar instrumentals sound rather distorted and the riffs are just recycled from all of their previous outputs. Another issue is Dio's voice echoing while singing making it a bit alienating compared to Heaven & Hell or Mob Rules. Still, it's easily their best effort in a while and the best Sabbath record of the 90s, though it's not saying much otherwise.

Sadly, while I want to like this album as much as I do, I never found Paul Di'Anno's vocals anything to be excited about due to his rather limited voice range and his style doesn't match Dickinson's versatility. Phantom of the Opera however still remains a Top 5 Iron Maiden song no matter how I look at it despite being on a very underwhelming and early release.

Most of the dreamy magic from Geodaddi and Music Has To The Right To Children is fully abandoned and diminished here so it never pulls the listener tries to grab his attention. While still possessing the trademark IDM sound Boards of Canada still have, too many of the interludes and unemotional atmospheres weigh it down.

Meh. Most of the material here feels lifeless and half-hearted, despite looking pretty on the outside. Already from the first track you can tell there was no real effort put into this which is rather a shame coming off from the incredibly addictive Art Angels.

For some reason, this album does not really grab me as much as their previous efforts do. It sounds pretty and has a relaxing vibe much like its predecessors, but it's missing a punch and the emotion, for which they're lacking the grip and intensity of Mark's previous works. I like this album, but that's about it.

Right, so what to say here... I'm both overwhelmed and underwhelmed by this one. It's once again Weezer retreating back to inconsistent territory where we get a mix of both good AND bad a la Green Album & Maladroit, a.k.a. Weezer playing to their strengths... ...and weaknesses. There are a few things to enjoy here still (Beginning of the End and Precious Metal Girl), but Blue Dream is forgettable (not to mention it completely rips off Crazy Train - seriously?). So I guess it's still another 21st century Weezer album at the end of the day, even with multiple disclaimers.

Please don't hate me for this. I've tried so much to give this, much like any other jazz album a chance - but in the end, jazz is just simply not for me. I can respect it because of how influential it was and how many other artists wouldn't exist because of it, but as for me, I just can't get into it no matter how much I've tried. Sorry.

Achilles Last Stand is one of the best songs Led Zeppelin have ever done in their career and Nobody's Fault But Mine is also a notable listen, but apart from them, there's nothing really else that sticks out. The guitar work is great but most of Bonham's drumming and Plant's vocals seem a bit dreary and lifeless apart from those two songs.

Arcade Fire Everything Now
It's unfortunate to see such a once unique and talented sextet of Canadians stoop this low, but I had somewhat foresaw this following the atrocious "I Give You Power". Not all of it manages to be atrocious
though; the title track is a pleasant folk/alternative dance crossover with a nice, infectious chorus while Put Your Money On Me & We Don't Deserve Love are other significant songs due to the former being
rather addictive while the latter is a nice, laid-back side of Arcade Fire but with straightforward, ordinary lyricism.

But yes, the rest however is piss poor. Chemistry is easily the worst Arcade Fire song which sounds like a song from a quiz show, one with some of the worst lyrics of all time ("Come on down, the price is
right!"), but hopefully this is just the band trolling us and hopefully this only being their step backwards. While bands sometimes become uninspired or choose wrong directions, one hopes Arcade Fire's next
output revisits their older days, so I will forget this album.

Wasted potential once again. The fact that Ariana Grande has a very wide range does not rescue her from the fact it's once again another basic album with no real experimentation. Also, what is with the laziness in stylizing every track in lowercase?

Metallica St. Anger
Instead of trying to summarize this album, I'll just pull out some rather hilariously bad lines which should tell you how crap this one sounds:
"My lifestyle determines my deathstyle" - Frantic
"I'm madly in anger with you" - St. Anger
"KILL KILL KILL KILL... KILL" x infinity - All Within My Hands

So yeah, I'm pretty sure they stopped caring or are just taking the piss. First Metallica album to truly avoid.

Black Sabbath Forbidden
Good lord, why? The first track is easily why Sabbath were just fine without ever having anyone featured. Most of the album is a total snoozefest and Tony Martin comes off as a poor imitation of Dio. An unfortunate final nail in the coffin for the metal pioneers.
Black Veil Brides We Stitch These Wounds
Bladee Exeter
An unfortunate term of events. Following the Grimes' influenced Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Bladee himself doesn't even know what he's doing here and is recycling his previous ideas. Too bad.
