5.0 classic
Arvo Part Tabula Rasa
Arvo Part Te Deum
Bathory Blood Fire Death
Bathory Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Batushka Litourgiya
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Black Sabbath Black Sabbath
Heavy Metal ground zero right here folks. Though, even away from the context of Sabbath being the undisputed progenitors of a whole subversive and counter-cultural genre, the self-titled full-length debut slaps with its dusky aesthetic, sinister undertones, and Iommi's catchy, fuzz riffs complemented by Ozzy's bellowing, wretched vocals. It's a perfect record, and metal couldn't have begun in a better, gloomier point to start.
Carcass Heartwork
Carcass' opus among a fair number of their musical accomplishments. Track after track after track, Carcass doesn't fail to impress with their heavy hitting, old-fashioned, catchy, melody-driven death metal riffs that they are definitive pioneers of. This is an example of a a metal record perfected and a style improved upon (much more notably so, given that they kind of let go of their whole goregrind motif for this one)
Collegium Vocale Gent J.S. Bach: Matthäus-Passion
My go-to for some enthralling choral liturgical music, apart from Pärt.
Cryptopsy None So Vile
Strapping Young Lad City

4.5 superb
Bathory Hammerheart
Bell Witch Mirror Reaper
Carpenter Brut Trilogy
I think I just listened to a genre-defining record. Hit after hit after hit, Brut produces some of the best and nost inspired modern synthwave tracks from his three EPs. Definitely more than satiating to those thirsty for the John Carpenteresque darksynth sound.
Code Orange Underneath
The band just consistently improves from record to record. Loved their work in 'King' and 'Forever' (the latter being my gateway to the rest of their repertoire). The way they used industrial/electronic elements such as abrupt breaks and synths seemed much more meticulously and deliberately melded in than the more chaotic Forever, so I'd say the comments about this being more comparable to 'NIN, but metal' is pretty justifiable. rHalf of the tracks seem to be as bombastic and heavy and hard-hitting as their peers in the modern revival of the Metallic Hardcore scene (which is par for the course now really), and the other half effectively veers into more a more melodic direction with catchier, almost anthem-like hooks. r
END (USA-NJ) From the Unforgiving Arms of God
END's debut effort encapsulates the essence of great Hardcore: contained chaos, dizzying dissonance, and absolutely devastating (and well-earned) breakdowns. This is a record that lives up to its band's 'super group' status. Interestingly, the clarity in the production very much enhances the record's aggresive sound and doesn't at all detract from the rawness of it all.
Fear Factory Demanufacture
Full of Hell Weeping Choir
Gojira L'Enfant Sauvage
Gojira Magma
Igorrr Spirituality and Distortion
English Google translate: MICK GORDON DOOM OST

French Google translate:
Infant Annihilator The Battle of Yaldabaoth
BOY's got that top notch TDM. A swirl of absolutely organized chaos and masterful mix production.
Machine Head The Blackening
Michael Kiwanuka Kiwanuka
Been a fan of Kiwanuka for a while, and I think he's hit a sort of prime in this record, with more experimentation and some timely undertones. Another good one from our guy, more to come I hope.
Mick Gordon Doom Eternal OST
What an absolute shame that the exclusive lossless release for those who availed the Collector's Ed. has only a couple handful actually mixed by our man Gordon himself. It still rips like a mf though, as the tracks that's supposed to hit hard, hits harder than a berserk powered glory kill.
Nails Unsilent Death
Nails You Will Never Be One of Us
Om Conference of the Birds
Power Trip Manifest Decimation
Power Trip Nightmare Logic
Shadow Of Intent Melancholy
The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers
The Chariot Long Live
The Weeknd After Hours
Loving the use of synths. Well established neon aesthetic that's consistent throughout. This is
probably his best work out right now. Not just cuz he killed it in Uncut Gems.

4.0 excellent
Bathory Bathory
Bathory The Return of the Darkness and Evil
Black Tongue Nadir
Bloodbath The Fathomless Mastery
Cattle Decapitation Death Atlas
Childish Gambino 03.15.20
Code Orange Love Is Love // Return To Dust
Converge Petitioning the Empty Sky
Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats Unlocked
Dua Lipa Future Nostalgia
There seems to be a lot of that retro wave sound going around. This record is predominated energetic tracks that are extremely danceable and a tad liberating.
Fear Factory Soul of a New Machine
An excellent fusion of Death Metal and Industrial, and a major influencer in Strapping Young Lad's relentless sonic mayhem that would come with Devin's handful of bipolar disorder laden records. Dare I say, that I may have preferred Fear Factory going into this direcrion more than the cleanly produced records that followed (?), as incredible Demanufacture is.
Incendiary Thousand Mile Stare
Jesus Piece Only Self
Kublai Khan TX Absolute
Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake
Power Trip Opening Fire: 2008-2014
Thy Art Is Murder Dear Desolation
Tim Hecker Anoyo

3.5 great
Slipknot We Are Not Your Kind
The Internet Ego Death
Smooth, aloof, and subtly promiscuous, Syd, Matt and the rest of the rnb OF splinter group pull off a really solid record for airy, light listening.

3.0 good
Batushka Hospodi
Afraid to admit that this version of the band slaps too. Not as good as the OG debut definitely, and not as experimental or really attempting to be more than it is. Bart tries to diversify here and there but nothing really is all too unique about thos record.
