50 Cent Get Rich or Die Tryin'
Abigor Nachthymnen (From The Twilight Kingdom)
Abigor Verwüstung / Invoke The Dark Age
Abominable Putridity In the End of Human Existence
Absu Tara
Black Metal Classic - this is the BM equivalent to Cryptopsy's None So Vile - this is utter, sheer aggressive madness in Black Metal form
Acid Bath When the Kite String Pops
The essential dark-tetrad record of radical differentiation, especially the first half.
Alice in Chains Dirt
Alunah Violet Hour
Annihilator Never, Neverland
Anthrax Among the Living

Cianide The Dying Truth
Cianide A Descent into Hell
Convulsing Errata
Death Metal Classic - a masterpiece of obscure, sinister, dark DM music
Coroner Death Cult (demo)
The production here might turn some listeners off - but the production here is EXACTLY what makes this record SO damn enjoyable to me. A crisp and raw production with crunchy guitars (that guitar tone is to die for) with Tom G Warrior's vocals on them - makes this record a Thrash classic. Turn up the volume and experience raw eargasms.
Corpus Rottus Rituals of Silence
Covenant (NOR) In Times Before the Light
Cryptopsy None So Vile
Death Metal Classic - this album is too crazy, too extreme to listen to casually. This isn't 'satanic or alien death metal' This is madness in music form. Listen to this album maybe once or twice a week - when everything goes wrong and you need a mind-numbing release
Darkthrone Transilvanian Hunger
Black Metal Classic - this is the album I would suggest to anybody who asked me to define
Black Metal. This is "pure" (and I mean, ABSOLUTELY pure) Black Metal. No influences of any
other genre whatsoever. This is bare bones Black Metal - at it's highest quality. The
instrumentation is simple, no complexity there at all, nothing majestic about how the
intruments are played. Yet despite it's simplicity, the ATMOSPHERE and HYPNOTISING AMBIENCE
this record creates is second to none. So pure. So cold. So motherfucking dark.
Defeated Sanity Chapters of Repugnance
Defeated Sanity Disposal Of The Dead // Dharmata
Deicide Deicide
Dementia (USA) Recuperate from Reality
Thrash Classic - I don't think the vocals mar this record. Overall this album rules

Enslaved Eld
Enslaved Vikingligr Veldi

Evildead Annihilation of Civilization
Exodus Bonded by Blood
Gherzen 1917
Black Metal Classic - a masterpiece of Depressive Black Metal. This isn't satanic/warlike/aggro
black metal. Sometimes I feel this is what MGLA wanted to achieve but never could so far
Gorgasm Destined to Violate
Haunted (IT) Haunted
Dark, crushing doom-instrumentation with haunting Venusian female-vocals. A Doom essential.
High Reeper High Reeper
Classic Doom-rock. If you're into Ozzy era Black Sabbath, you're gonna dig this hard.
Human Vivisection The Perpetual Gap
Immolation Close to a World Below
Inquisition Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical...
Korpse (UK) Revirgin
Linkin Park Meteora
Even better than Hybrid Theory - and that means a LOT.
Master Master
Mayhem De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Black Metal Classic - I am always pleasantly surprised at how fucking good this album is - and how it stands its ground and looks any other Black Metal classic in the eye. And I am even more surprised because Mayhem is mostly known for all the controversy, off-stage antics etc. However, this album is Black Metal masterpiece. Perfect atmosphere, majestic riffs, killer production, tasteful drumming (HellHammer) and Attila's vocals are just idk... perfect. Highly recommended, on the strength of it's music alone
Merciless The Treasures Within
Only Living Witness Prone Mortal Form
Hard-hitting riffs. All killer, no filler rock music. One of those albums that turn boys into men.
Opprobrium Serpent Temptation
Thrash Classic - Pure aggressive thrashing madness. This is the album Pleasure To Kill wishes it was
Overthrow Within Suffering
Pestlegion Dominus Profundum
Black Metal Classic - a masterpiece of demonic evil black metal. Riffs are excellent. Drumming is
tasteful. Production is perfect. Vocals are multi layered and more than commendable.
Prostitute Disfigurement Left In Grisly Fashion
Pyracanda Two Sides of a Coin
Ripping Corpse Dreaming With the Dead
Sacred Monster Worship the Weird
Excellent groovy bluesy doomy instrumentation. Kickass production quality. EXCELLENT, excellent uniquely impish/daemonic vocals. A necessary record.
Satyricon The Shadowthrone
Black Metal Classic, killer production, aggression, atmosphere
Sepultura Beneath the Remains
Setherial Nord
Shah Escape From Mind
Slayer Reign in Blood
Sorhin I det glimrande mörkrets djup
Black Metal classic - perfect production, great atmospheric guitar riff melodies, drums, vocals,
aggression mixed with tempo management
Stargazer (AUS) The Scream That Tore the Sky
Death Metal Classic - this is a technical/progressive Death Metal masterpiece.
Terrorizer World Downfall
Vio-Lence Eternal Nightmare
Watchtower Energetic Disassembly
Thrash Metal Classic - this is not the kind of chunky thrash you chill out to - nor the kind of aggressive thrash you lose your shit to --- this is artistic thrash music - meant to be listened, enjoyed and appreciated like one appreciates masterful art.
Xentrix Kin
Xentrix Shattered Existence
Xentrix Bury The Pain
This album isn't objectively a 5/5 - more like a 4/5. I'm giving this a 5 coz I personally love Xentrix's brand of crunchy thrash metal. A 5 for me, personally

4.5 superb
Abominable Putridity The Anomalies of Artificial Origin
Abominable Putridity Parasitic Metamorphosis Manifestation
Acid King Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere
Heavy, haunting stoner-doom. ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Adramelech Psychostasia
Alice in Chains Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains Black Gives Way to Blue
Alice in Chains Rainier Fog
Altar of Oblivion Salvation
This album gives the following vibes : Heavy metal song structures, epic power metal vocals that sound amazing (because these are baritone vocals, my favourite kind) and ultimately, consistent dark doom-riffing throughout the album. All these elements blend in perfectly. What a great discovery! What stops me from giving this a 5 is that sometimes, the album gets slightly redundant. I wish this was not the case, but it is what it is.
Analepsy Dehumanization By Supremacy
Analepsy Atrocities From Beyond
Appalling Spawn Freedom, Hope And Fury
Arsebreed Munching the Rotten
Ashbury Endless Skies
Essential Mystic/Dreamy/Venusian Heavy fucking Metal. Beautiful compositions, instrumentation and vocals. One or two sub-par songs are the only reason why this is not a classic.
Assorted Heap The Experience of Horror
Beast In Black Dark Connection
Behemoth Demigod
Blood Red Throne Souls of Damnation
Bloodbath Nightmares Made Flesh
Burzum Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Cancer To the Gory End
Cannibal Corpse Tomb of the Mutilated

Deicide Once Upon the Cross
Deicide Legion
Demilich Nespithe
Death Metal Classic - the perfect example of "alien death metal". Groovy and otherworldly af.
Desultory Bitterness
Deus Mortem Kosmocide
Devil Magister Mundi Xum / The Noble Savage
This is traditional Doom Rock done extremely well - the way it should be done. I need to listen to this album more and decide if I'd give this a 5.
Devourment Obscene Majesty
Dimmu Borgir For All Tid
Dimmu Borgir Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia
Dimmu Borgir Stormblåst
Melodic Black Metal titan. The compositions are beautiful. But ---------- The production quality could have more "bass" to it (not just the intrument - the album sounds very "trebly" and a bit too "sharp" in an unrefined way for my liking) --- this would have made it a 5 from me. Also, this album simply isn't "crazy" or "genius" enough for me to give it a 5.
Disastrous Murmur And Hungry Are The Lost
Disavowed Stagnated Existence
Disentomb Sunken Chambers of Nephilim
Disfiguring the Goddess Deprive
High Quality Brutal Death Grind xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxr
Disgorge Cranial Impalement
Dissection Storm of the Light's Bane
Not gonna call this album a "Black Metal Classic" - but yeah decent BM album overall. Pretty good, actually. But not a 'classic' in my opinion. There are other BM albums I like "way" more
Dog Chasing Sun Slow Burn
Top-quality riff-and-attitude-laced jam rock instrumentals. Might give this a 5.
Doom (JPN) Complicated Mind
Embrional Evil Dead
Enslaved Frost
Epidemic (Metal) Decameron
Excruciate Passage of Life
Exhumed Anatomy Is Destiny
Exodus Fabulous Disaster
Gatecreeper An Unexpected Reality
Ghoul Splatterthrash
Ghoul Transmission Zero
Gluecifer Automatic Thrill
a very, very fun rock album. has this juvenile youthful masculine free-spirit to it. Many times have I jammed this album and felt better dealing with this funny life
Gorephilia Embodiment of Death
Gorerotted Only Tools and Corpses
Gorgasm Bleeding Profusely
Gorgoroth Under the Sign of Hell
Gorguts Considered Dead
Grafvitnir Necrosophia
There is very little preventing this album from being a 5/5 Black Metal masterpiece. Other than
this, the riffs are amazing, the atmosphere is evil in a very ominous and original way - and most
of all, the VOCALS - are marvellous. The vocals are like a menacing shrieking snake's, and
definitely unique compared to so many of the other Black Metal bands I've heard so far. Heck I may
even give this a 5/5 sometime in the future. //// Edit - Nah, this album had to had a better
production for me to give this a 5. The vocals alone deserve the rating this entire album gets.
However, the riffs are pretty amazing. Just wish the production was better.
Grafvitnir Keys to the Mysteries Beyond
Overall album production is better and more clear than on Necrosophia. Vocals are still amazing but not as menacing as on Necrosophia. Overall experience again - is amazing. Just needed a 'little' push for me to give this a 5/5
Grafvitnir NâHásh
Grafvitnir Semen Serpentis
The vocals here are not as phenomenal as some of the later albums by Grafvitnir. However, this album gets its rating coz of the sheer majesty of its tritone tremolo-picked black metal riffs. Beautifully sinister.
Grafvitnir Venenum Scorpionis
Grafvitnir Death's Wings Widespread
Hideous Deformity Defoulment of Human Purity
Horna Envaatnags Eflos Solf Esgantaavne
Horna Sanojesi Aarelle
I.N.C. The Visitor
Immortal At the Heart of Winter
Needs no explanation. This monumental slab of a record might as well have descended down from the Elder-Demons of icy Norwegian Black Metal themselves.
Impaled Mondo Medicale
Impaled Nazarene Suomi Finland Perkele
Infernal Majesty One Who Points To Death
Inquisition Nefarious Dismal Orations
Inquisition Obscure Verses for the Multiverse
Inveracity Extermination of Millions
Judas Iscariot To Embrace the Corpses Bleeding
Karma To Burn Arch Stanton
Catchy consistent aggressive SHOUNEN rock-riffing, which at times can be even sexy. Should be a staple in a bad boy shounen collection.
King Weed A Deal At The Crossroad
Two tracks here. First one's laid-back jam rock BUT with an ominous and naughtily apocalyptic undertone to it. The kind of music you play when you're on a secret mission or... walking away from an explosion (of course, without turning back to look at it) The second track is aggressive, manly, sexy and will get you laid. (+.0.5 for this track alone)
Kryptos The Coils Of Apollyon
Limbonic Art Moon In The Scorpio
Pleased at how consistent this album is from first track to last. This album to me represents a Qlipothic spiritual journey - and this album does it well. It's a very tiring experience to sit through the whole album, and there is very little that stops it from becoming a Black Metal Classic. (the album needed more "crunch" and aggression - is almost too melodic/symphonic for my tastes)... but an essential black metal album anyway.
Lord Belial The Black Curse
Lord Belial Unholy Crusade
Lord Gore The Autophagous Orgy
Malignancy Intrauterine Cannibalism
Massacra Final Holocaust
The death metal equivalent to Coroner - Death Cult (demo) - would be a 5 if production were more 'modern' (unlike Death Cult's production, which works in its favour). Overall is solid, incredibly hard hitting/in-yo-face and well crafted.
Massacre From Beyond
Massacre Resurgence
Master An Epiphany Of Hate
Merciless Merciless
Merciless The Awakening

Sacramentum Far Away from the Sun
Black Metal Classic - Some say that this album "rivals" Dissection's magnum opus, Storm of the Light's Bane. Merely rivals? I say, that this album crushes, obliterates and spits Dissection's record out like it's chattel. This is one of the greatest Black Meta- nay - one of the greatest Metal albums I've ever heard. Anyway, this is quintessential black metal music.

Sargeist Satanic Black Devotion
Sargeist Let The Devil In
Satyricon Dark Medieval Times
Sepultura Arise

4.8 - Classic Brutal DeathGrind - this is how it should be done. Catchy melodious riffs and tasteful vocals backed by a constant brutal rhythm machine in the background. Production is great too
Severe Torture Feasting on Blood
Sinister Diabolical Summoning
A really cool Death Metal album with good tempo changes, energy, riffs etc - slightly marred by it's light fuzzy production.

Tankard Zombie Attack
Incredibly fun and diverse riffage. Overall a very fun album. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 - are 1) production could have been better 2) the album is a bit too fast paced... like it's in a hurry. Still a very fun THRASHER though

Anthrax Persistence of Time
Armoured Angel Angel of the Sixth Order
Atheist Unquestionable Presence
Autopsy Mental Funeral
Averon An Echo from Beyond
I 'could' give this a 4.5 also. Basically, this is an album of crunchy, consistent Doom Metal with gothic overtones. Why listen to bad Doom Metal when you've got albums like this?
Baphomet (NY) The Dead Shall Inherit
Benediction Transcend the Rubicon
Benediction The Grand Leveller
Death Metal staple - broken down to its roots. Good album
Bloodbath Grand Morbid Funeral
Bloodbath The Arrow of Satan Is Drawn

Nothing spectacular in this album but there is something here that grows on you - idk what it is wasn't paying attention... could be the raw-crisp production or the raw visceral voice or the guitar tone - but I like this album. May even give it a 4.5 sometime.

Not a bad album. Just not the kind of Death Metal I'd personally recommend if you asked me for a DM album. Not my kind of DM. I'm sure I'd have liked this record a LOT more if the production on the drums were crispier and the bass would have been turned down.
Infernal Majesty None Shall Defy
Jumpin' Jesus The Art of Crucifying
King Weed Smoking Land Part II
Laid-back instrumental jam rock with attitude. And what is rock music without attitude?
King Weed Acid Land
Masterful instrumentation on a jam-rock album that sounds dark and ominous.
King Weed Blunt
Consistent sexy instrumental riff-rock. Nothing spectacular, but worth having in your collection. PS-I love how the drums sound on this one.

Good ol tight Doom Metal. Might give this a higher rating after re-listening.
Pestilence Spheres
Pharmacist Medical Renditions of Grinding Decomposition
Phlebotomized Immense, Intense, Suspense
This is well-executed progressive Death Metal - the DM equivalent to the Thrash band Watchtower (kinda) - I might change the rating from 4 to 4.5 later - but it remains at a 4 for now

3.5 great
Aborted Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage...
Alice in Chains The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here
Aosoth IV: An Arrow in Heart
I'd recommend this album for the percussion-work alone ...the crash-cymbals of which sound like the hiss of a menacing snake. This is a well-crafted work of nightmarish, relentless Black Metal.
Asphyx The Rack
Amazing production quality. Great doomy instrumentation. Too bad the whole album is marred by the annoying vocals. Else would have gotten a higher rating. Rests in Death Metal slab
Assorted Heap Mindwaves
Atheist Piece of Time
Autopsy Severed Survival
Bathory Under the Sign of the Black Mark

Forced Entry Uncertain Future
Gatecreeper Deserted
God Macabre The Winterlong
Gorgasm Masticate to Dominate
Grafvitnir Obeisance to a Witch Moon
Another great album by Grafvitnir, who keep their consistency on this record as well. Why I'm giving this a 3.5 and not a 4+ (as I've given five of their other albums) could be that I have listened to so much of this band I've grown used to their sound. I might raise this score upon further listening of this record - and again I might not. But I think their other albums are better. (Riffs are better on the first two albums - vocals are better on Necrosophia - production is better on the two albums following this) This is a great BM record anyway
Gruzja Jeszcze Nie Mamy Na Was Pomysłu
Immortal Sons of Northern Darkness
Infester To the Depths... In Degradation
Kreator Extreme Aggression
Lord Belial Enter The Moonlight Gate
Massacre The Second Coming (Demo)
Master's Hammer Ritual
Messiah Rotten Perish
Morbid Saint Spectrum of Death
I hate the drums and overall production on this album - BUT there is a 'spirit' and 'madness' to this album which makes it very entertainingly and evilly raw - which is good. Also, I dig the vocals on this record. However, there are other albums that do aggressive thrash better (Incubus) This gets placed in Thrash Slab
Moribund Oracular Eyes
Naglfar Harvest
Nightbringer Hierophany of the Open Grave
Nuclear Assault Handle with Care
Opprobrium Beyond The Unknown
Pestlegion Entsage Gott
Phrenelith Desolate Endscape
Seer of the Void Revenant
I am pissed coz I couldn't love this album more (I fell in love with the artwork the moment I saw
it) - The good things about this album are, excellent production quality, the PERFECT doom-guitar
tone. However, I couldn't like the vocals, and the way the songs were composed. Just didn't do it
for me. Check out the first song Prodigal Sun though. That's seriously good. (PS - Actually, the
instrumentation on this album ITSELF is good enough for a re-listen. I might come back to this one
again)
Severed Savior Brutality is Law
Six Feet Under Unborn
Solstice (USA-FL) Solstice
Kickass 5/5 level instrumentation - marred by annoying-ass vocals
Stormtroopers of Death Speak English or Die

A good slab of Death Metal that deserves more than one listen. The guitar tone is crunchy and kickass.

Disfiguring the Goddess Black Earth Child
Nothing special. But not exactly a 'bad' album either. This goes into Brutal Death Grind slab. The
album "Deprived" is way better.
Dismember Like an Ever Flowing Stream
The two good things about this album are 1) Amazing artwork 2) Great guitarwork - and these two arent enough to redeem the weak points of this record. By which I mean, the production on this album sucks. And the vocals are annoying AF. Overall feels like an uninspired album. Rests in DM slab.
Gatecreeper Sonoran Depravation
Ghoul We Came for the Dead!!!
Hellhammer Satanic Rites
The only reason I give this album anything at all is its raw, killer guitar tone. Other than that, this album is a doozy for me. But oh that raw guitar tone mmm!
Hyperdontia Hideous Entity
Infernal Majesty Unholier Than Thou
King Weed Toxic Freedom
The vibes this album gives off are that of a shounen anime hero (imagine :Naruto) ...but sounds rhollow, instrumentation-wise. If you're looking for that kind of music, look to other artists. The rtracks Misty Mountain, Dark Fairytale and Babylon are worth checking out. I'd give the rest of rthis album a pass.

This album isn't anything special but it isn't "awful". This album gets unnecessary flak. There
are many, many albums that are 'actually' awful. This isn't close to them. And no, this album
isn't "death metal" nor is it anything remotely close to "From Beyond" (which was a masterpiece
btw). I am analysing this album as an individual record. You'd have to be hit on the head with a
hammer to compare this to their
debut, which was essentially an album of a different genre entirely. As for what genre this album
is, I'd call it "Death n Roll" - which is what Entombed and Dismember became after releasing their
debuts. And no, I wouldn't call this album Nu-Metal. As for cringey lyrics, maybe... I just don't
pay attention to lyrics. I care about the music more and to me vocals are nothing more than
another musical instrument - and vocals are pretty cool here.

Acherontas Amenti - Catacomb Chants & Oneiric Visions
Acherontas Amarta (Formulas of Reptilian Unification Part II)
Apocalypse Faithless
Bedemon Child of Darkness: From the Original Master Tapes
I don't get the hype with this album, and this is coming from a connossieur of Doom. The production on this one sucks balls. And this is the 21st century. Why tf will I put up with lame production when there are much better Doom albums out there? (Yeah I get it.. This one's a demo. And I like certain demos coz they sound raw... but NOT if they sound UNLISTENABLE in their entireties) This album's better than Ozzy-era Black Sabbath? LOL ... anyway, I might come back to this album later and review my rating but I don't think that day is coming anytime soon. My time is precious and there are other Doom albums to listen to.

Overrated. To me this album is nothing but mindless speed and aggression (something which Opprobrium - Serpent Temptation does MUCH better) --- although the production on this album is good, the songs themselves feel uninspired. Killer album cover art though!

I don't get the hype - this album is too... idk... incoherent, inconsistent and too... "busy" for my tastes... so much is happening at the same time... and yet none of any of it makes any sense (unlike Cryptopsy's None So Vile - a similarly "crazy" record, but there is a method to that craziness - there is none here) - It feels like this album is trying too hard and trying to say too much etc. Could be for others to like. Not my jamr(But PERHAPS i am naive --- relisten the album after checking out the other Nile albums i guess)

Regurgitate Sickening Bliss
Ritual Carnage Every Nerve Alive
Sodom Agent Orange
Unpleasantly disappointed, since I love thrash metal and expected a lot out of such a famous album. The production on this one is great - but that's it. The songs are boring. The album takes itself too seriously and not in a good way. And doesn't thrash nearly as well as I'd like it to
