As this was before he did too much touring, his vocals on this masterpiece album are his cleanest and debatably his best work. Producing instant classics like "Lights", "Wheel in the Sky" and "Patiently", this album shows the entire group at their songwriting best, before turning to the more commercialized rock sound of albums like "Escape." Thrilling guitar melodies, tight rhythm section grooves, all with the incredible voice of Steve Perry atop it, and you have one amazing progressive rock masterpiece. |
