A few good songs (Repentless, Vices, Atrocity Vendor, Υου Against You) some with a few good
riffs/solos/drum parts here and there and many songs that will be forgotten very soon. I
don't think it is anywhere near its predecessors (especially Christ Illusion) and I do not
stand only in the absence of half the original Slayer. Paul and Gary are excellent players
and do their best to fill the shoes of Dave and Jeff. Of course the absense of their song-
writing (Jeff's in particular) is quite clear. It has a promising start up to Vices, when it
slumps. The middle part of the album sounds very generic, uninspired and tired. I may have
to distinguish Implode from this judgement. The closure is quite decent with Atrocity... and
You Against You which are two of the best moments of this LP. Overall, there are more songs
I waited to end rather than those I trully enjoyed. |
