It will take forever to list and describe all the reasons why White Pony is Deftones' magnum opus. Between the balance of heaviness and melody, the constrasting emotions, the diversity of the songs.... There is too much to say here. ISIS PanopticonJakob SinesJakob is one of my favorite bands of all time. Whatever they release has touched me with its grace, beauty, turbulence, complexity, and expoeriementation. After three spectacular albums, I doubted the idea that they could ever outperform themselves. I am glad to see that they have proved me wrong. Sines is simply pure perfection. I just cannot name one standout track, as each song is a journey through the senses and emotions like few others. The world is clearly in need of a band like Jakob. Our Napier, NZ-based friends deserve so much more recognition.Jakob Subsets of SetsPearl Jam TenPink Floyd The Dark Side of the MoonPorcupine Tree In Absentia4.5 superbCrosses CrossesOne word: DAYUM! Russian Circles seem to have taken on the bet of being the band that attempts to be as dark, gloomy, skull-crushingly brutal, melodic, smoothing, even haunting, as musically possible. And you know what? The end result is bone chillingly awesome.Staind 14 Shades of GreyZero Cipher 45 Minutes of Fairytale Endings4.0 excellentDeftones Saturday Night WristMudvayne L.D. 50Mudvayne The End of All Things to ComeNeurosis The Eye of Every StormNovelists Demos (2013–2014)As generic as the basic musical formula employed by Novelists may be, the French band is surprisingly capable of churning out extremely catchy and beautiful layers of atmospheric melodies and unforgiving mments of skull crushing brutality at the same time. The vocals are particularly impressive. I'd like to see where this band goes from here. They definitely have something special.Pelican What We All Come to NeedPorcupine Tree Fear of a Blank PlanetPorcupine Tree The IncidentSevendust Black Out the SunSoilwork The Living InfiniteStaind Chapter V3.5 greatKatatonia Viva EmptinessMudvayne Lost and FoundSevendust Next3.0 goodCaliban Ghost Empire"Ghost Empire" is a great example of what happens when a band wants to shove far too many seemingly great ideas into one mold and strugglkes to create something cohesive and consistent. Seriously, there are elements of Deathcore, Djent, AltRock, Indistrial Metal, Emo, and Caliban's trademark Metalcore. Guys, please pick one or two styles of music instead of mixing too many genres at once.2.0 poorHellyeah HellyeahMudvayne The New Game1.0 awfulHellyeah Blood for BloodHellyeah Band of BrothersHellyeah Stampede
