In this album you can see a little more of these guys influences, like Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age and so on. Definitelly a great album!Criolo Nó na OrelhaCriolo, a 35-year-old S?o Paolo rapper, became the toast of Brazil last year with this second album, whose title translates as Knot in the Ear, but which proves an easy, expansive listen. Drawing on a richer palette than the hip-hop that made Criolo a local hero, it shifts between Afro-funk on Bogot?, heavy samba on Mari?, roots reggae on Samba Sambei and MOR ballad on the totemic N?o Existe Amor em SP (There's no love in Sao Paolo). There's a poetic edge to the writing (greed vibrates/vanity excites), while the songs reflect the grime and chaos of the favelas where Criolo grew up. "I'm a beast I'm a gun" binds the heavy guitars (And tune in C!) Queens of the Stone Age with vocals reminiscent ripped fast and Backyard Babies. Already "Finding another road" convinces us easily look for another road but while playing rock n 'roll! Another great pair of songs are "Do not take my beer", whose verses are impossible to be heard without shaking his head, and "Leaving home", last track on the disc, ending it the same way it began: showing that even there are bands out there doing rock n 'roll of the highest quality and sometimes are closer than we think.Coffinworm IV.I.VIIICriolo Convoque Seu BudaMastodon Crack the SkyeMaximum the Hormone Bu-ikikaesuPandelic EscapadeSilverchair FrogstompSoldiers of Jah Army Get WiserWilliam Fitzsimmons Goodnight3.5 greatAsesino Cristo SatánicoBand of Horses Everything All the TimeBand of Horses Cease to BeginBlack Drawing Chalks Big DealThe band shows a unique style with influences on stoner rock and raw guitars and screams that makes you want to sing along.
