Although I appreciate the idea of combining fresh song material with some classics of the band, I don't like this compilation. The problem is with the so-called "classics" which comprise of rather underwhelming material with the only exception being Dead Eternity - one of my all-time favourites. While Another Day In Quicksand is underrated, because of it's great solo after the second chorus, it is still not the best choice from the Clayman LP (what about real classics such as Swim or Bullet Ride???). Discover Me Like Emptiness and Our Infinite Struggle are as mediocre as the two new songs on this EP. The two live songs somewhat save the EP from being a real letdown, but considering it's main purpose is to introduce new fans to In Flames' wealthy discography, it is disappointing ... |
