 | bakkermaarten007 Most post-rock is without vocals and it's called post-rock because all the typical rock instruments (guitars, bass, drums) are used in post-rock. Though that's not a given anymore. Many bands have implemented violins, cello, trumpets,... in their work.

 | bakkermaarten007 Post-rock is a type of rock music without a typical structure (like verse-chorus-verse) and has usually a very long length per track. Think of cinematic music when you think of post-rock. The idea is not to give you an immediate satisfaction but rather like classical pieces your get immersed in a giant soundscape which usually starts off rather calm and peaceful and in many cases grows towards a climax (where many post-rock bands use 'tremelo' playing on their guitars).
