From Indian Lakes
The way that the vocal arrangements and and guitar melodies interplay on this album is superb, and the selling point for me. Clever, but still catchy - nothing revolutionary, but probably top 25 of the year for me.
The Moon Rang Like a Bell
It's been a pleasure to watch this band grow over the past two years - this album struck me
much in the same way that Homogenic did. Stunning arrangements, clever use of sound and one
hell of a voice to tie it all together. Doing Florida proud.
Home, Like NoPlace Is There
This is the album I've been wanting to hear from so many other bands that I thought would have this kind of potential - didn't expect it to come from a small-time band out of Massachusetts. It's a shame that this album probably won't reach the ears of so many people who would absolutely love it.
Standout songs: Sharp Practice, My Only Friend, Birth of the Economic Hitman. Still don't think this album comes close to On Letting Go or Juturna, but definitely a step up from Blue Sky Noise. The drummer has been getting progressively worse at creating interesting rhythms; Stop The Fuckin' Car and Kicking Your Crosses Down had drum riffs that really made the songs, shame he doesn't live up to those tracks.
