  • altertide0 Yeah I really liked your Bulgarian friends so I'll definitely check it!

  • altertide0 No problem, it's not like you could expect it after I've told you about my internet problems (which btw I've managed to solve somehow 2 days ago). The Pop Group are superb, check their debut Y, it's a seamless blend of post-punk, jazz, funk etc. with a lot of Beefheart influence. Make sure you listen to "She Is Beyond Good and Evil", some versions lack it and it's probably the best song (well, the catchiest one for sure).

  • altertide0 I managed to get it somehow (Suicide that is) and after 3 spins it looks to me like a strong 4.0. Spontaneous Kraftwerk meets Faust meets The Pop Group. Good stuff!

  • altertide0 ofc the fact that i'm saying this may already be a proof that i'm in a box so let me know if jazz is worth the trouble after all once you know some more. :) thanks for the rec, believe it or not that's exactly the kind of music i was hoping for. now it's past 1 am in poland so i'm afraid i've to go. super nice talking to you! goodbye ;)

  • altertide0 well you have to draw the line somewhere: if you're gonna invest your time in both rock and jazz, then why not also classical? and if so, why not paintings and sculpture? etc, etc. but then it's too much of it and you're left with no real knowledge about any of it. besides rock music is pretty varied itself: there's blues rock, folk rock, jazz fusion, electronica and countless others, so i think i'll won't lose an open mind as long as i listen to them all.
