  • Tunaboy45 Thanks man! I'll probably end up reviewing them all so I'm sure there'll be a Vespertine review at some point.

  • Onirium Hey, are you familiar with Plini?

  • RadicalEd A shame, but oh well ;). Portishead are cool, but when it comes to trip-hop I prefer Massive Attack over them. Dummy is still a really good album.

  • Onirium I absolutely love Coltrane, but I think my favourite jazz artist would either be Miles Davis or Keith Jarrett. The former for being extremely quintessential, innovative and influential within the genre, and the latter mostly for the brilliance of The Kln Concert.

  • Onirium It's quite probably not my personal favourite jazz album so far, but it certainly is brilliant and contains some of the most passionate music I have heard - but passion is a standard in his music. I think the fact that most jazz artists of that era recorded live in the studio without any overdubbing - overdubs barely existed at the time anyways - plays an important role in the passionate character of their music. In terms of Coltrane, My Favourite Things is just as brilliant in my opinion.
